I’m not even sure the dragon ball earth has racism. The manga itself is pretty real-world-racist at times just in the art, but I don’t remember any kind of in-universe racism until literal space alien Vegeta showed up with his Saiyan pride bullshit.

Earth is ruled by a dog monarch and everybody from humans to demons to dinosaurs seems to have pretty much equal standing in society

The art suffered from too much American influence, same with most of Osamu Tezuka’s art (where he had blackface and some racist stuff about Africans, but at the same time Astroboy was an anti-racism manga). I think in DB they even had some black people in high positions both as villains and heroes but the designs were really bad. At least they added black character with better designs like Rulah

Yup, the designs were all I meant. Forget Mr. Popo, sometimes you see just a regular ass black man in a crowd in the background and you’re like “oh man that should probably be illegal or something” lmao

I remember I read the chapter in which Rulah was introduced on release and I was very pleasantly surprised, good example

When he was a kid he did stop a demon who wanted to enslave all non demons. Though that was more of a case that he was literally pure evil.

When you go into the universe and multiverse scale though, it’s a racial caste system all the way up with the Kais. Though that’s outside Shenron’s powers, surely.
