-Talks about speaking to “normie” Americans.

-Uses terminally online insult, “tankies”, to refer to actual socialists.

By the way, nice trucks. You think I could hop into one of them and drive it away? I’d love to do it. Just drive the hell outta here. Just get the hell out of this. I had such a good life. My life was great.

Using the word normie explicitly demonstrates this person sees themselves as above the people.

I was blocked within 30 seconds of replying to them pointing out how much they’re clearly sneering down at others.

A true comrade is never “snooty” about his views/knowledge/experience.

A true comrade is one who extends their hand to share knowledge with everyone else; keeping eye levels, volume levels egalitarianly.

I’m watching House of Cards and it made me think of this thread. Just like The West Wing - the democrats are offering up entitlement reforms to help the dem president accomplish the rest of his agenda. Even in fiction serious democrats™ need to consider taking an ax to such things as Social Security.

I started to wonder how many years it will be until AOC becomes such a serious democrat™ and she is for something like cutting Social Security. Because - of course - making the hard choices needed to govern means caving to the GOP and giving them what they want.

“You don’t understand, if you don’t give the GOP everything they want they’ll just take it 100% on their terms!”

Even in safe blue states, it looks like there’s this idea you can’t piss off the GOP too much even if they’re absolutely irrelevant statewide. No one is in any rush to finish the HSR because it might piss off the most lead-poisoned hogs who literally cannot comprehend anything beyond cars. Even in electoralism, I am begging dems to have some actual principles, something they think they should do and losing the next election would be worth it.

I think the 2028 dem presidential race will be utterly ridiculous. In the clown car - there will a huge number of candidates. ~30 maybe? And nearly every single one will be using different words but in effect they’ll be saying the same thing…

“You don’t understand, if you don’t give the GOP everything they want they’ll just take it 100% on their terms!”

There might be as many as one candidate who might run and believe in abolishing ICE. But the entire MSM will shit on them non-stop and they’ll probably drop out early. Then the donor class and the MSM will smugly say: See? Abolishing ICE is a non-starter!

Meanwhile one of the frontrunners (Newsom maybe?) will have some kind of lab-tested consultant approved grosteque plan like Reimagine Immigration or some shit. The plan will call for “bold action” about ICE. But not even a single sentence will exist to explain what this “bold action” actually is.

I mean, I do and I then explain why, as a s Social Democrat politician, she will only performatively criticize the establishment, much like a progressive politician, which people in purple states absolutely understand.

Maybe this person should hang out with ‘normies’ sometime. It’s pretty easy to get them to hate on any kind of politician, left right or ‘center’.
