maybe-later-kiddo Hey you can have better policies later kiddo, but if you don’t vote for the genocide and ICE Zionazi you might get the more uncivilized genocide and ICE Zionazi. Stop being purity ponies and vote or else…

I forgot who she was so I checked Wikipedia. I laughed when I saw this…

In 2025, Cummings participated in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Comedy Festival, an event which Human Rights Watch characterized as an attempt by the Saudi government to whitewash its human rights abuses. In contrast with comedian Atsuko Okatsuka, who spurned the strict censorship rules, Cummings was one of three women to accept an offer to participate in the festival.

Our reality is like a movie where the cast of characters who are horrible people is too big by a factor of ten.

That Saudi money did not last long.

Isn’t this the comic who got mad at Ms Rachel for saying you shouldn’t block medical aid to children?

i’m not interested in further discourse about usa electoralism since i don’t live there but yeah. that was my observation from outside, and i wondered why the hell she did that when a) she wasn’t going to get trump voters to vote for her even by pushing that line, and b) she could have just made vague ass lies about stopping the genocide in gaza and pulled far far more voters from the left voterbase many people now berate for causing all of this.

also i have to stress again i am not eligible for voting in the usa and i am a visitor to hexbear and i have no interest in any discussion about me voting blue because i could not vote in 2024 and my critiques of kamala do not mean i personally established ice. i do not live in the usa. (obligatory disclaimer each time i talk about kamala)

to be fair though, from what i recall of her campaign, there were ads/speeches about immigration that were basically her mimicking trump’s policies so she could garner votes from his voterbase. so

Hey the opposition is executing people in broad daylight but don’t get too excited, we’re going to do that too. However you should vote for us because we’re going to make sure to fill out the correct forms for public executions and we’ll give the ICE agent that shoots your cousin a free subscription to betterhelp

It’s gonna be really funny to see blue anon try to scold people for complaining when the dem candidate announces their plan to reform ICE is to pay them more.

Oh, you’re not going to do better policies? What are you proposing instead? Nothing fundamentally changes? But you want votes because the fundamentals are bad? Isn’t there a chance that people are unhappy under you and then the bad people get back in power and make it worse? Wouldn’t that just be ratcheting up the bad, souring people to you, and concentrating the badness because the base will either desire worse policies, die, or flee? Couldn’t you just inspire non-voters to vote by proposing popular things instead of trying to get people who hate you to like you?

tl;dw: “I’m a liberal and my political party sucks but I’m incapable of imagining any alternatives other than the right wing.”

Credit where it’s due. On the potential “issue” of Cory Booker’s veganism:

It’s not unprecedented, Bill Clinton turned vegan after he was president, and Joe Biden was an actual vegetable.

    Same thing happened in '24.

Dems strategy is now to continue run inconceivable unpopular neoliberal ghouls who poll lower than gonorrhea but start blaming anybody left of Hillary like a year before any voting happens.

They’re a comedy show, so I don’t expect them to lead the revolution or even do anything particularly good or productive but asking them to not be this actively and openly neoliberal seems like an extremely low bar

That was literally a bunch of dumb libs (myself included; I was in attendance, embarrassingly enough) believing they would lead the revolution or something, when in fact they were just doing a comedy show (with music I guess? We couldn’t see or hear anything and we only got back to the hotel room in time to see the credits roll, so I have no idea what the actual content was)

Lol. And what’s hilarious (in a very morbid way) is that you can absolutely link the stuff libs were riled up about (tea party, Glenn beck, war on terror, health care, patriot act) to the shit happening today. And John was like, let’s all just calm down and get along. Be civil with each other! Lol.
