I remember an incident in Kenosha were a group of armed black people saw shadowy figure on a building pointing rifles at them. One guy turned on his weapon light to ID them; It was cops, he got sent up for aiming a gun at the cops.
At protest they’re usually there to help organize kettling and other such big police movements, rather than protecting the protesters. Spotting is the majority of their job.
Word. A sniper’s job is to gather intelligence and perform recon. Modern snipers aren’t the front-line snipers of the Red Army during the War. Yes, they’ve got a rifle, but attached to that rifle is a really, really big telescope.
I’ve mostly seen them use choppers for kettling, not snipers.
But I guess it maybe depends on terrain and movement.
