They graciously labeled it as “Edit image” too, to rub in the fact that artists have 0 control over anything they create. It also masterfully attempts to reinforce the idea that the “AI” slop machine isn’t the thing doing all the work, no, no, no, YOU are in charge of the kitchen when you give a prompt to the chef! YOU are the one editing the image!

Of course, this doesn’t affect just artists, anyone that posts an image of themselves will be subject to the collective power and machinations of the Xitter user base as now they can shove it down the slop machine in just one click to “edit” it. How exciting.

Whenever I wake up for a new day I am thrilled, because I know it’s one day closer to this cursed, bloated, monstrous, wasteful, asinine, ludicrous, horrible “AI” bubble finally popping. This technology is next to useless and the general public shouldn’t have ever had access to it.

Click it and add “pregnant” to the prompt for all images posted by all politicians and media.

They’ll tire of it quite quickly.

Congress finally doing the right thing after they get firehosed by a bunch AI pics of them being suggestively eaten by a clearly pregnant and heavily male Garfield Arbuckle.

      Three important things to note:

1: I did not mix up my words. The Garfield is not heavily pregnant and clearly male. The Garfield is clearly pregnant and heavily male.

2: Garfield is not canonically surnamed, in the reality generated by the AI, this Garfield is married to Jon.

3: I have repeatedly referred to “the” Garfield or even “this” Garfield. This is to distinguish it from the other Garfields, of which there are sure to be multitudes per image, fawning over the central pregnant Garfield.

4: I’ve seen Cool World, it can happen.

Of course poisoning isn’t gonna work, it works when being included in the training set, not when using an image as starting latent noise.

I Can’t believe any human doing anything creative still has an account in the fucking chatbot hellhole of twitter. (I also hate it because i refuse to get an account there.) Unlimited Buttlarian jizzhad to the Ai fuckers.

I would happily ditch it if everyone else did, but Mastodon is too niche and Bluesky has the energy of an American suburb.

I sometimes wonder if it would take Elon outright taking a sledgehammer to the Twitter servers for it to finally die and the world to finally move on.

I hear this mindset a lot; There is a lot of defeatism in general. But I’ll tell you one thing. As a long time music fan i have never listened to a minute of Ai trash music and i never will; and I am not going to touch any platform with generative AI because i don’t want to fry my brain with that shit. If someone made a music platform today that was expressly against AI content, I would join in a heartbeat.

But if artists don’t give us the public alternatives to enjoy their content they simply don’t exist for us. So i think it is less a question of “hey move out of twitter country” and more an issue of “hey if you broadcasted your content somewhere else than twitter country I’d probably could reach it.”

Also i am not too versed on social media and i am not asking in bad faith, but as part of the general public, how can i help a creator to move out of the platform they are stuck in, especially if it’s a creator whose work i haven’t been able to follow? I imagine in twitter it must be difficult to find human artists with how poisoned the well is with all the chat bot slop.

My frustration is not so much with the creators themselves, but in the walled garden social media is turning into, and they idea that we have to put up with techbro warlords in order to enjoy the content of other humans.

There is a lot i don’t agree with what you are saying and the attitude in general. But i don’t really see a point to say anything more. If anything, I’ll just say it wasn’t my intention to seem oppositional.

Happy new year to you as well! I feel you are reaching a little, This conversation is not about saving anyone; It’s about artwork, and platforms, It’s about consumer and vendor attitudes; I don’t consider the conversation pointless because you are beyond saving, I just see you have your opinion I have mine and there is no point in trying to change anything. Also there might be some cultural barrier between us. (clarified in case it’s not sarcasm)

I didn’t notice that you are ever creative yourself, so i have to be clear that my comment wasn’t directed at you specifically. I haven’t really used blue sky. It’s true that mastodon has a very set niche to it and that it’s imposible for people outside to reach any meaningful engagement. But in contrast the Issue with Twitter is that it’s system will just continue to get worse by design. People can migrate and make subniches in new social media, but i feel twitter like meta’s platforms are being shaped to be a pit of AI manure. And my mindset about that is: If the tech bros want to rot their brains in self masturbatory manure, leave them alone to it. Let them rot.

In short i feel those platforms are hopeless, but at least somewhere else there might be an island or two in this sea of shit.

Shovel another billion dollars a month in expenses on xAI. Sure they lose money every time someone uses the tool but they’ll make it up on volume

I encourage more people to look into running their own personal models on their hardware like ollama or artbot if you want to piggyback off someone else’s gpu. That’s if you want to even use ai, which if you don’t, I do not blame you.

they have rudimentary chatbots built in btw, the programmer of the q3a bots made a whole university project out of it that states that it was based on eliza

the easiest way to check that out is by going to the tutorial and write in chat, crash will answer

This sounds more like it’s a “turn this picture of this person into porn” button. Like JFC you know Musk is using it to look at kids or his employees or some other heinous shit.
