  • In China, probably no.

But these ads/propaganda targeted at Chinese-Americans. The “Migrant Crisis” is one of the big things they push. Although, I’m not sure if that’s CCP doing it, or if its just a conservative dickhead in the US posting those shit, and WeChat merely amplifying it. My mom keep telling me about how "Democrats in NYC is letting too much ‘mentally ill’ homeless people live near Asian-American communities and about that prison they plan to build near NYC Chinatown.

Like why blame “Democrats”, thats more of a “politician” thing. A MAGAt would in power would build something worse, a MAGAt would just wall-in every non-white in a ghetto.

And there’s this rhetoric about “illegal immigrant stealing benefits”, like just tax the fucking rich already.

  • That’s the dilemma with modern commucations. If you use signal or similar apps, your device can get hacked with pegasus or similar malware. AFIAK, walkie talkies and ham radios don’t really have “backdoors” (unless they messed with the supply chain), you hold the button and it transmits, let go and it doesn’t transmit. Dead simple. If you do encryption using a separate non-internet-connected device, then transmit it over the old-school radio, its virtually unhackable.

So you really have to weigh the risks.

Are you trying to have Perfect Forward Secrecy and is Pegasus not a risk to you?

Or do you prefer to be secured against pegasus, but use a clunky non PFS encryption?

Are you doing all your communications before the protest? (in which case you can use a phone with signal)

Or do you also want to have comms during the protest? (in which case, radios have no IMEI and cannot really be “hacked” and encryption is done on a separate device)

  • There’s nothing to be done about content scraping (which has been going on for decades).

Hi my name is Michael Stevens.

You may know me as the creator and host of the VSauce 1 on YouTube on December 8, 2011 I created the how to basic YouTube channel. I created it as what I believe to be Step 1 in an important human revolution.

As I looked around at what technology was doing to you, I realized that we were offloading information and skills to machines. You no longer have to know how to, fix a dented car, how to make an apple pie, you could just… “Google It”. The human mind was being replaced by machines, and once that replacement is finished… Humanity’s gone.

I thought warning people would be enough, but then I realized… it was too late… Only a revolution that tore down the infrastructure of technology in our world would be sufficient. And I could only do that from the inside.

I needed to upload DIY informational and educational content full of misinformation and absurdist comedy. That way, the system would fall apart. People wouldn’t trust machines, and we would all have to trust ourselves.
