I think from the second the image of him wearing the American flag shirt was released it became a tough sell to say he’s just a run of the mill lib, even if that’s the most obvious explanation given the nature of the shooting.
His alleged comments about Charlie Kirk spreading hate, the “hey fascist, catch this” and the fact he donated money to Trump in 2020, but not 2024 after allegedly becoming more politically active (as well as being described as having criticisms of Trump by a gaming buddy) points in the direction of him being a lib.
Trump’s apprehension to say anything about the guy’s ideology, Nick Fuentes disavowing this kid hard instead of doing his usual inflammatory nonsense (which is what all the other RWers are doing), the Bella Ciao meta-ironic meaning, the guy’s family and overall background point in the direction of groyper.
If I’m being a bit dispassionate/pessimistic, I’d say you’re probably right, but there’s still reason enough to have doubt. At the very least, this guy could easily have completely brain fried nonsense politics like Mangione or Thomas Crooks.
This is all purely academic of course, the consequences will be as if Mamdani personally shot Kirk regardless of Robinson’s ideology.

reading back the transcript of that bit it was claimed that a ‘family member’ disliked kirk for spreading hate and robinson disliked him for [unspecified] so i think that’s harder to pin down. that said, i am confident that kid was influenced by some variant of blackpillery (on a typically american spectrum of coherence from not at all to somewhat) and not the fucking pod jons or whatever
