    I started my second journey into getting Linux working on my computer. My SO has girded his loins and prepared for me to ask a thousand stupid questions like the last time (where I had to use it for complicated reasons), but if it goes well, that will be another American product out of my life, leaving only the Android in my phone.

      that is so awesome! I ditched Windows when I was a teenager and knew nothing about computers, and installing Ubuntu was so stressful and scary, lol

      What distro did you go with, and how did you find the install process and user experience?

        Mint. And my SO did the installation after I went wide-eyed and confused at some of the questions.

          lol, at least you had your SO there to help 😁

          I keep meaning to try Mint one day, I’m so lazy I’ve never moved past Ubuntu (or Debian LXDE when it’s old hardware).

          Can’t wait to hear what you think of it - hopefully it works for you 💖 Luckily Lemmy seems to have a lot of Linux users, so we can always try to help, too.
