The concept of an object which exists in nature, or artificially, NOT having an “owner,” is literally incomprehensible to the liberal capitalist mind. The river’s water must be owned, the ground’s oil must be owned. To be is to be owned; I am commodified therefore I am.

    Basically, they were stating it was the natural state of man that he owns himself. I bluntly put it that “property ownership” is a state invention, ergo it’s illogical to say it’s inherent to man when it didn’t exist at the time man came to be. His response was to whine that I wasn’t abiding by the proper rules of intellectual discourse and that I obligated to accept his argument.
