Suleyman’s post is also curiously timed with a recent damning report from The Verge that found Copilot’s current capabilities don’t match what Microsoft is advertising. The report found that in most cases, Copilot was unable to seamlessly or fluently achieve requests made by the user, the same requests that are shown in Copilot advertisements.
It’s all terrible timing for Microsoft, as the company has just announced a new tagline for Windows: Your canvas for AI. The company is moving ahead with plans to evolve Windows into an agentic OS, spearheaded by AI agents that will ideally be capable of completing tasks for you. But given the current state of AI, and Copilot in particular, it seems that vision is still just a pipe dream.
Microsoft has a perception problem currently. With Windows’ reputation at an all time low, the company’s obsession with AI seems severely misplaced in the eyes of many users. The company should be focused on fixing fundamental issues with the Windows platform, but instead it’s too busy trying to shove AI into every UI surface it possibly can.

i’m starting to think that these people have never used ai. not even a second of it. they read whatever bullshit the marketing team came with and took them at face value while they kept doing rich people things. even the most intense ai believers we have met are aware of their shortcomings even if they try to downplay them
Now is the reign of the Finance Kings, their courts are packed with jesters and they’re high on their own supply. These people thought them stripping the post-war system and selling it for parts was them being “good at business.” That’s like bragging about how you know more about cooking than trained chefs because you eat more food than them. Fucking egg heads.
The way these people are making decisions, it’s not surprising if AI can do their job better then them, they are so far removed from anything solid, nonnegotiable that correct isn’t really something they need to worry about, and they also have people below them doing the worrying for them. Them being impressed by a machine that completes their thoughts and gasses them up is really not that surprising.
the only thing ai is good for is translation and being extremely horny and the latter part is problematic except the porn industry is even more problematic so i dunno i think i gotta give a point to ai on that one reluctantly

Not sure how much I’d trust Microsoft to not fuck with an “IOT” flavour of their OS if they saw it was being used to bypass their planned obsolenece.
I know it’s meme but if you’re gonna go as far as to install random Windows 10 builds to extend it over Windows 11… maybe it’s time to plan to jump ship.

Or better if you can reinstall Windows and can find where to get it : try Windows 11 Iot LTSC, no dumb system requirements, no AI, no bloat, (not even the Microsoft Store…although you can still install it if you really need it) and no bullshit. Most updates are just security updates, and supposedly it will last longer than the normal Windows 11.
You technically need to be a company to get it…but I’m sure some sailors and graves lovers can find other ways ;)
The company I work for is “integrating” “AI” into our jobs and the “AI” vendor we hired demonstrated its work today after weeks of testing. It immediately spat out wrong information, lmao
