  • I love it. The key is setting the triggers as the left and right clicks though. I find clicking the trackpad not great for precision. There is a certain level of tinkering/customizing that will be needed to get the most out of the controls.

I’ve played several 20 year old FPS games with absolutely no native controller support and completed them all. If you put in a little work in getting the controls how you like them it makes it hard to play stuff without all the Steam Deck options.

  • I mostly game on my Steam Deck and assumed Heroic was only a Linux thing, but recently learned it’s available on Windows too. How’s it do? I’ve been collecting the free games from Epic and Prime Gaming, but barely touch them. Being able to open a single launcher for everything non Steam in Windows sounds amazing!

  • F.E.A.R. and I thought it was pretty fun.

Looks great for when it was made and the lighting was pretty impressive. The story was kind of dumb and super cliche. The scares mostly didn’t work, but they got me with a few jump scares. The music and atmosphere were pretty eerie and effective. Decent shooter!

I’ll eventually check out the sequels and now I really want to play that studio’s spy games. I think they are called No One Lives Forever or something like that.

It took me just shy of 20 hours and that’s mostly because I was so impatient and died a lot. Took me a long time to realize that jumping over attacks was just better than using the dodge for a lot of enemies.

The game almost lost me right away. It gets so much easier after racking up some levels and a fun weapon have been found.

  • I’m playing Miles Morales now on it and it runs great though there are more bugs in this then just the annoying memory leak. I’ve had it crash a few times when too many in game events line up.

Just early tonight it froze because a podcast clip started right as it was saving me finding a tech cache. I waited to see if it’d recover, but no luck. When the ambient cityscape sounds started dropping out I knew I’d have to use the Steam Exit Game command.

  • I absolutely love Robo Rally. I can play that game over and over and over. I love the chaos and strategy. I hear there was a new version released several years ago that changed up the rules quite a bit. I lucked out and found a reprint of the original 90s game.

Also I love Monopoly Deal. It’s a cheap, fast, and easy to find card game version of Monopoly. It’s a really fun and easy game. I feel like most people turn their nose because regular Monopoly has some pretty bad memories attached to it for a lot of people. Never ending games that usually end up feeling pretty unfair. Especially with all the weird default house rules people play it with.
