I got an air fryer for christmas last year and in my opinion as a professional cook with 15 years experience, they live up to the hype and one of the main things ive used it for is amazing fries, wedges or chips. Potatoes are cheap af, you toss em in a bit of oil and spices and you’re off to the races. Takes like 13 minutes including cook time. For your chips to be real chippy you’ll want a mandolin or something like that. I use use a really sharp chef’s knife and cut thin, but i like a little bit of potato meat still on the inside so it’s borderline like a potato skin from a restaurant but crisper. Bag chips still hit different. Similarly ive figured out a pack of tortillas is cheaper than tortilla chips and I can just cut em up and air fry and then bag em. I am a major eater of dips, black beans, layered bean, hummus beans, baba ganouj and need nice things to have it with. I need my some kinda chip and my carrots and dip, often with a pile of olives and pickles.

I keep hearing good things about air fryers but I have put off buying one because I don’t want to be tempted to buy more tendies and other processed food, when I’m trying to cut back on such things.
