I’m in no way saying it’s easy and I think ~3 hours would be about my absolute limit for me too even if I had a horde of speechwriters at my beck and call. Not only am I not a talker - I’ve grown to hate talking. But I assume a few things about Booker’s effort.

    • He’s been planning this effort for at least weeks. Probably months. And he knew he’d have to speak for more than 24 hours to beat Thurmond. Beating Thurmond’s record was vital for him.

    • He had his speechwriters, aides, etc break his effort down into hour long chunks or whatever. And then they wrote out huge amounts of text. I bet all he did was editing.

    • Booker practiced a lot on structuring the content.

    • Like a talented standup comic - he practiced a lot on the delivery. He needed to make his delivery seem alive and not canned. Booker made his practiced stuff seem improvised. As much as I loved Robin Williams - fantastic timing and deceive people into thinking the performer came up with it on the spot. Williams was a brilliant performer and fantastic at improvisation but he had lot of go-to canned material. Why do stunts without a net?

    • [Etc.] I’m certain if by tomorrow I could have at least three more list items.

I googled for a transcript. Google found nothing. I’m sure at least AI transcripts exist. They must. Google is such garbage.
