An apt comparison to 9/11
What? In that they deserved it?
explaining blowback to an American “Imagine a 9/11”
Blowback starter kit now with more blowback! Now with the greats such as: Pearl harbor, assassination of Franz Duke Ferdinand, and the rise of Hitlers nazi party. But wait there’s more! Such as everybody’s favorite, 9/11 and the Jan 2021 Trump insurrection

In that it was brown people getting uppity? I dunno.

This actually is an apt comparison to 9/11 because in both cases the target countries unambigously deserved it.

At some point some propaganda came out that this was “a festival for peace”. Looks like CNN reported it but later retracted it. Damage already done as it got parroted by other media
You can just make up stuff, say it’s from an “anonymous source”, then retract it and maintain your credibility by blaming it on the source you made up.
In fairness, Hamas made a lot of them more peaceful

It’s really wild how hard the media is trying to emotionally anchor this for Americans. They reference 9/11 AND Pearl Harbor in that list.
I have no way of really knowing, but I strongly suspect that Average-America’s regard for Israel is far more negative or at least neutral than it might have been a decade ago, and the way the media is going so hard in framing the narrative feels like they know it.
20+ years ago I was an Evangelical Christian. That group is rabidly pro-Israel now but at least before 9/11… well I would say they were exactly anti-Israel but the support was much, much more subdued.

If I was at that music festival I would have voted for Gaza militants not to attack it. I don’t want to ruffle any feathers but I think this really detracted from the musical experience.
Libs are getting the perfect opportunity to see whether they would’ve been the people supporting the native Americans in their struggle or the people who colonized them.
Liberals love to support indigenous resistance in the abstract but the second shit gets real it’s all about the fucking nuance and complexity and how dare they actually do anything.
They’ve had this opportunity for a while now. They’ll support them when it’s convenient against non-white people. Kurds, indigenous groups in China, Assyrians, Amazon natives, various Latin American indigenous people, etc. Have them go against a majority white population and they either downplay their struggle or immediately support the colonizer. Sami people, Palestinians, Basque people, Irish, etc.
Where there any white people who opposed the genocide of Native Americans while i was actively happening at all? I know there were white abolitionists re: slavery but I’ve never heard of any white folks at the time talking about how what we were doing to the natives was bad?
There were plenty of publications, including one from Ben Franklin, that discussed the horrific things being done and how it was overboard. Most of them still held the idea that “civilizing” them had to happen, but didn’t necessarily agree with the brutality of how it was being carried out.
the genocide of Native Americans while i was actively happening
It’s still actively hapoening
Yeah of course that was bad wording I just didnt know how else to say it like. “Back when we were doing literal wars about it” is what I meant.
‘When the first settlers were moving west across turtle island’? Idk
Wounded Knee 2 was only 50 years ago
Also the Zapatista uprising was 30 years ago. And land defense actions that are met with violence from settler state security forces have been continuous across turtle island for at least the last decade (probably longer that’s just what I’m aware of).

Pearl Harbor moment
Hey it actually is though. Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen to bring the US into a conflict it wanted to be a part of but didn’t really have a good reason for. Israel wants to say those mean Palestinians are bloodthirsty animals and treats them as such then acts shocked when people brought to the brink lash out and use that as an excuse for incredible violence with little to no repercussions internationally because “they’re just defending themselves”
idk it seemed like the settlers were actually surprised, if so"allowed to happen" wouldn’t fit as nicely.
So were the troops in Pearl Harbor
how surprised was the command? they were busy being racist and worried about sabotage from japanese-americans but if peal harbor was “allowed to happen” that implies a bush “could’ve done something about it but didn’t” whereas israel expects liberatory violence regularly but not at this scale or on that day.
A 9/11, a Pearl Harbor, a Holocaust even. Some people are already classifying it as a mass extinction event. Read here why those festival goers are aptly compared to the dinosaurs.

i fully support the indigenous Paiute in their scalping raids at burning man
A reminder,
If this shooting cause you to stop supporting the liberation of Palestine, then you don’t value Palestinian lives as much as you do Israelis.
I’m organizing my rave next to Auschwitz, it’s going to take place on october 7th 1944. Hopefully nothing goes wrong.
First the quicksand at Burning Man and now this?!
maybe there is a just god.
Not enough energy to make the meme, but the same people on social media that want to kill all the muslims and let God sort them out are also mad at China about the Uyghurs.
Some Israeli posted “fuck them, I hope they get the Xinjiang treatment” and everyone was like wow lmao that’s cool dude you want to make Palestine a bustling tourist destination
lets not forget in response to the 200 killed here isreal has already killed magnitudes more civillians in response
