I don’t know any gen x or millennials that are blaming or even making fun of new generations.
Only when they don’t get my 90s references, or wear fannypacks and/or shoulder pads.
Really? I see it but it’s nothing more than a light ribbing. Like ironically saying “no cap frfr”
That’s only if they gots no rizz.
This thread is the first time I’ve seen “frfr”, I guess another data point that I’m old now.
Im guessing it’s “for real, for real”?
Yup exactly
I’m a millennial. Anecdotally, I haven’t seen as much bashing on gen z at least amongst other millennials. The older folks are going on about hair colors and the typical boomer stuff, but I see more acceptance of the youths amongst my peers. Most notably gen z tends to be a lot better with showing emotions and communication. I think the only thing I’ve complained about is these past trends of kids just ripping sinks and urinals off the walls in bathrooms and other oddly destructive things. That felt like a newer trend that I didn’t experience going through school or really hear about.
Millennial teacher here ('85). I have seen it two or three times maybe. But from people who just basically wanted to complain about everything.
I’m in utter disbelief whenever I hear this kind of comment. The young generation is fantastic, and I just hope they’ll keep their resolve to revolt and Wil manage to avoid the traps our generations fell into.
Older people like me should never judge the young. We should either help them, root for them or apologize to them (what a world we welcome them in…).
The first sentence in your second paragraph, when you say, “utter disbelief”, are you taking what I said as an insult towards the newer generation or are you referring to the OP comic strip? If so, I’m not trying to insult them at all. I’m a big fan as a whole, just minor fries from some bad actors that don’t represent the generation, but happen to be a part of it.
Ah, no, not at all sorry. As you may have guessed, I’m not located on an English speaking country, so I may not phrase my thoughts well. My message was an echo to yours, I was referring to insults towards the newer generation in general. My starting point echoed yours : I rarely hear those, but when I do, this utter disbelief kicks in. I hope that clarifies my point!
I wouldn’t have guessed you didn’t speak English; your original comment was perfectly clear.
No need to apologize, you were clear, I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t misreading. I think general when I hear or use the words “utter <something>” it’s usually about something bad or whimsical. Not that it has to be, rather it’s just how my mind initially interprets it
As a genx, I make fun of every generation.
As a Gen X, absolutely. Especially Gen X!
I mostly just get drunk and ignore them.
Username checks out
Gen z here, but I do the same (and I don’t stop at all generations)
As a member of gen Z, you likely don’t notice it because you’re not part of the generation being made fun of. It’s a pretty constant issue and it didn’t magically stop with millennials. It’s to the point where many older members of gen Z insist they’re actually millennials in an attempt to gain bownie points with the older generations by not being part of the generation they hate (which never works BTW.)
I do see it, but consistently call it out if I can. I like to use the example of POGS if anything regarding viral trends or whatever comes up. POGS were just printed pieces of cardboard that encouraged gambling, and we morons ate that shit up.
Millennial here, I see nothing exceptional about my made-up generation. Yeah we got fucked pretty bad I guess with 9/11, financial crash (remember occupy wall street?) but that’s nothing compared to what’s about to come, we were probably among the least impacted from COVID so at least there’s that.
Being born a certain year doesn’t magically give you special distinct traits, this ain’t astrology.
Boomer for me is a derogatory term for people with a very special mindset, independent of age. The rest IDGAF about.
Though my favorite meme about generations is https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/30-year-old-boomer
Dang, guess we never learn. Well, Gen Z is kicking ass as I see it, don’t want to lay down and be beaten into submission the way we’ve been. Keep on keepin on.
I have seen it before on various social medias. Some are mad about their slang (“frfr” or that skull emoji), others being mad about their memes and some such.
Funnily enough, I saw pretty much the same comments being thrown on millennials during the 00s.
Some things never change.
💀 is a zoomer thing? 💀
I assumed it to be so. Maybe a “late zoomer” thing?
Maybe I’m just more in tune with the youths? I’m 32. I use 💀. I’ve never viewed it as a zoomed thing.
There’s plenty on TikTok according to my fiancee. If I encounter anyone in my age range that trys to shit talk younger gens in person I usually tell them to chill and quit being like boomers (I see the irony).
Naw, we’re blaming boomers. They are in many cases still the problem on countless topics.
The only time I see it is when they are defending themselves from zoomers
I’ve only ever seen a zoomer start the fight like once. Every other time I"ve seen this generation wars bullshit it was some kinda “kids these days” comment from someone who’s only a few years older than most zoomers.
Other than that, most zoomers I know are usually in on the joke.
They learned that promoting conflict was wrong when they handed Millennials “Ok boomer” and saw what we did with it.
The biggest problem with Gen Z is that they’re disillusioned way too young. You need those dreams alive when you’re young and full of energy. Kids used to rebel against their parent’s jaded attitude, but Gen Z ate it up. I mean, yes there are a lot more things to be disillusioned about now, but you’re not supposed to be crippled by those at such a young age. Otherwise they seem great. They have compassion and empathy, and they’re open to new ideas. If only they had the belief that they could change things instead of feeling beat down at the ripe old age of 20.
On the other hand they’re so sick of shit they might be the ones who have the balls to start setting everything on fire and bring back the guillotine.
Robespierre the Republican Party
I’d love for that to turn out true, but so far the signs aren’t good.
Yup I’m not even put of high school and I’m ready to live in a cardboard box and work 12hrs/day just to survive for the next 60-70 years
It’s much easier to learn about what there is to be dissilussioned about now with how the internet is now.
They also have therapy tiktok/yt. I can’t imagine the headstart some of them are getting in terms of understanding and dealing with the issues they/everyone faces. That’s something legit incomparable to anything that came before, imo.
Granted, I have no idea the ratio of younger folks on therapy-/book-tok verses on those crazy conspiracy and new age/spiritual stuff.
Damn boomers being ageist again. Everyone from that generation is worthless.
Is this irony?
There are only two kinds of people in this world I just can’t stand: people who are intolerant of other people’s cultures, and the Dutch.
I dOn’T sPeAk FrEaKy-DeAkY dUtCh!
Is this Loss?
No, this is Patrick!
No! THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAAA Rotterdam.
This is a Wendy’s?
No bitch this is waffle house!
More artificial divisions to keep us occupied and distracted.
We have this fixation on generations. I think it’s more to unite our own personal identity with change. This is supposed to happen at age related milestones and the social roles we take as we age. However, this phenomenon has been hijacked by media cycles of “eras”.
Generations were a fad in the 90s where you’d hear something about some such generation every day. Then for the most part, people stopped talking about this pseudoscience nonsense. Although, like horoscopes, they never really went away. But I don’t get how we’re back a nearly useless model of behavior being a daily part of conversations.
I’m pretty sure that for as long as people and their offspring have been separated by ~20 years, there have been generalized complaints about the older and younger folk.
Yeah, probably way back in the day Gronk was complaining in his cave about the kids and their new fangled inventions like the wheel and housing.
And how, if living in a cave and walking everywhere was good enough for him, then dammit. it’s good enough for them!
You joke, but it really makes me wonder what kind of ‘raising teenagers’ issues caveparents would have had back in the day.

That’s silly, we don’t do that lol.
Tbh it’s so me rofl
I’m not a Millenial and i do that lol
lol I’m ☠. Just going to wait for a zoomer to point out that this is based.

Don’t you mean x_x XD
I doubt I will blame Gen Z for anything anytime soon.
The problems in the world aren’t caused by young people, yes not even Tiktok. Because Tiktok wasn’t created by a young person.
I’d rather blame the ones actually responsible. Like Boomers, who still have too much power.
Honestly I’m jealous of tiktok. It’s so full of creativity. Sure it’s also full of garbage but that’s like everything on the Internet. Kids are hella creative and fun.
Noooo, you need to link the actual source! How else can I read the background text?
Panel 1: “Your heart is kinda gross looking”
Panel 3: “Please tell your doctor your self-diagnosis you found online. Doctors LOVE that.”
Panel 4: ???
Lmao. It says; “I can’t believe you’re reading this tiny print. It’s not at all interesting. Watch TV instead. I honestly feel a bit guilty putting this here because i’m totally wasting your time. It’s just meaningess background text. On the other hand it’s not like you’d be curing cancer if you weren’t reading this. But that’s okay. You’re good as you are. Read tiny print if you want to.”
I clicked into the comments to find this transcription. Thanks you for wasting your time so I could waste slightly less time.
My one regret is that i only have one upvote to give. But to make sure I clicked it twice.
Do you have a patron or something? Can i buy you a coffee? Or an egg?
Lmao that’s great
Unironically doctors quite like self diagnoses from my experience (provides you use reputable sources such as the NHS website and you aren’t trying to treat it yourself and asking a doctor for a professional opinion)
It gives them something to go off of/test for.
Oh that’s neat. Maybe I’ll bring mine up next time I have an appointment.
Plus they can blame the patient for a false diagnosis.
A good example is when I had anaemia. I was correct, but if I self medicated (which some idiot told me to, I rejected their advice) I would have taken iron. Turns out it was actually a folate deficiency, but the GP knew to give me a blood test because I suspected I had it. At least in the UK, if they didn’t like you telling them about your self diagnoses, the NHS website wouldn’t exist. The correct thing to do with your self diagnoses is to take it to a doctor, not treat it yourself.
The poster text in panel 4 is very much worth reading. I was going to type it out, but then I realised I shouldn’t deprived people of the joy of reading it themselves.
It is much easier to read on the source website, though.
sometimes doctors have scolded me for not looking it up online
guessilljustdie.svg
It’s kind of an easy choice, whatever the patient did blame em for not doing otherwise
Especially here because it seems to change every frame, I’d like to see the message it’s conveying
Fuck all this ‘generation’ bullshit, it’s utterly meaningless. If you use any of these terms or believe any of this bollocks you’re dumb.
Okay Gen Xer
Wow, how original! You’re a loss to the world of comedy, pal. Did you really think of saying the thing I was complaining about back to me, all by yourself? Don’t lie. Don’t you dare lie to me, you fraud! You ripped that off. You ripped that off from some comedy genius and passed it off as your own. Well, I’m dobbing you in. I’m getting your mendacious plagiarism punished, because this kind of shit is irre-fucking-deemable.
Ok boomer
New copypasta just dropped.
This feels too embarrassing even to be a copypasta

Don’t pick on Gen Z. They’re pretty based overall. I’m sorry the boomers fucked it up for everyone. Hippies turned staunch capitalists, propaganda really works y’all
Hippies were always a tiny minority. That’s why they were called counter-culture.
Those damn millenials and their constant refusal to pass memos around!
This memo could have been an email.
This memo could have been a meme.
Meme-o
Is that like a typo?
Nah, that’s how you yodel the word meme.
I had to tell my dad this and I think it stun locked him for a minute. He complained about some “millennial” college student and I had to tell him that millenials are like 40 now. Not college students.
Hey, now. We can be both. 🤷🏻♂️
To be fair, he’s only about really 5 years late. The youngest millennials are around 26-27.
81-96 hard pressed to find any that are still 26
Oh, I was a year off. For some reason I thought it was 81-97.
Yeah, youngest of our generation currently is around 27.
The millennial hate is so unreal. A friend of mine is also a millennial, but she refuses to admit she is one and insists she’s Gen X. She is not Gen X by four years. Then she told me she identifies as Gen X🤦🏻♀️
(Actually her attitudes and behaviours are more stereotype Boomer than anything.)
My old coworker is the same but is gen x and identifies as a boomer
“Ok, Boomer.”
I absolute love that the messages in the frame change on each scene.
I had to go to the site to read the final one only for it to ask me why I bothered.
Wall art. “Your heart is kinda gross looking.”
