I think they do it to try and “corner the market” or something. They are convinced that AI images will make them the big bucks (or attention and fame or whatever) but don’t know what will actually become popular because they despise art and creativity, so they just make a bunch of comms in order to make sure that someone else doesn’t make them so they can “get in on the ground floor”
