He talked about the drug war, and how much violence that spread through latin america. He was the only person saying that Al Qaeda had political reasons for terrorism, it wasn’t just random anti-western violence. I learned the term “Blowback” from him. I think I even read Manufacturing Consent because of him. But I conveniently ignored all of his christofascist views, since that could be chalked up to “states’ rights”. Yes, I was dumb
