Depends on the country, or how big a picture you’re taking. Dubois didn’t have much hope for the US, and he placed most of his hopes for the future in a union of African states, and PRC and USSR of course.
So far it looks like the best results have come from the PRC but I feel like we occasionally get bits of good news out of African states that give me hope for the future. PRC has done a pretty good job avoiding the pitfalls of potential stagnation too.
