They used to be quite cheap. It’s crazy to see them priced that high.

Dental rubber bands end up being better/longer lasting in my experience.
They are still around as “drop”. massdrop.com redirects to their new site, but they aren’t what they used to me IMO.

As a fan of Hifiman headphones… good luck. Their reputation is more or less the opposite of AKG and Beyerdynamic for this sort of thing. I baby my HE-6 because they are irreplaceable.
I’ve never had a cable from a quality pair of headphones break.
I have two ultrawides stacked on top of each other with two 16:10 in portrait mode on the sides aka the fat TIE fighter layout. My layout isn’t in the chart, but I am certain it would be considered evil.
tl;dr Belgain Triples reign supreme!
That is sad news indeed. The good news is that I already own two sets of Beyers and they will hopefully outlive me.
I’d had a pair of K702s, and yes, the whole family is more or less just slight tweaks (K701, K701, K712, K7XX, Q701). I did have a part that kept wearing out though, the little elastic bands that let it auto adjust. They sell the part cheap, but since you need to order them from AKG, the shipping was killing me. I ended up modding them to not longer auto adjust but just fit my head specifically.
Edit: I’d like to shout out to Beyerdynamic for also being on this “headphones that just won’t die” train. My DT-770s are easily as old as OPs.
Stay on GrapheneOS as long as I can, then look for an alternative OS like trying Linux phones again and maybe they will be ready for prime time by then (hope springs eternal and all that).
Sorry, I don’t recall the actual specifics now. I believe it was something like they made it a code violation to not have your home connected to the power grid and you just get fined and harassed until you “fix” it.
Yes, FL west coast.
I wasn’t allowed to go off grid in my previous home where I had solar installed either. There was also a hard cap on the amount of solar I was allowed to install. Both of these rules were put in place due to lobbying from the largest power company in the region (Duke Energy in my case). It totally sucks,
yeah, I had to resurrect an old phone to go to a concert last week. It’s possible I’ll never go to one again. I wouldn’t have bought the tickets had I known about that bullshit.
In case you’re curious, the Nokia flip phone I got my daughter is the Nokia 2780 Flip.
It no longer runs WhatsApp, actually. The new version of the OS (KaiOS which is a fork of the dead Firefox OS) broke compatibility and Meta apparently decided to not bother with supporting it.
It’s too early to call me out like that.
They require that the kids use the Chromebooks and use Google accounts.
