Jesus Christ, seriously? The amount of political ads we were bombarded with for 6 months leading up to November, and people didn’t realize Biden wasn’t running?

Functionally, what’s the difference between “healing” a Pokemon vs. using their genetic makeup and organic matter to biologically 3d print a fully healthy clone?
Well they’re all lazy criminal welfare queens who are also taking all of our jobs somehow, don’t you read the right wing propag- I mean, news?
What I don’t get is the inaction from the democratic party on changing the voting system between elections.
The Democrats didn’t secure a large enough majority in previous elections to overcome Republican resistance to changing things like FPTP voting or the electoral college.
There is a lot of contention within the Democratic party (at the federal level at least) as it shifts further towards the right in an effort to remain in power. Getting rid of FPTP voting would make it harder for centrist/right leaning Democrats to remain in power.
Several states have switched to RCV for some of their elections, and progress has been slow, but it’s being made. If you want to see more, elect people that prioritize implementing better voting systems.

Wait really? Man I knew those games were my favorites for a reason
Ok but what about instead of an explosive release canopy, the crew just sorta loosen some of the bolts holding the top of the plane on, then the pilot flies upside-down to gently tip everyone out of their seats
I frequently cook tomatoes in cast iron/carbon steel, it doesn’t do any significant damage to the seasoning that can’t be repaired with a quick stovetop re-seasoning.
Yeah for sure, it’s not for everyone, and getting through the whole series is borderline a chore lol.
I’m reading through The Wheel of Time for the second time right now and my experience has been different. It’s crazy how the tone changes from the first book to the last, and the amount of character development that occurs. I think each book is been better than the last, and each for different reasons.
Hi, I’d like the ELICHEM5320 pls
What is it with people trying to turn the entirety of October, November, and December into Christmas?
It’s one single night, it’s not a season. Is this the Americans trying to push it on us to increase our capitalist consumption or something? I see it a LOT these past few years.
What’s next, celebrating other holidays in the actual month that they fall in?
The way I see it, there’s two options:
Pay people more. 300k, 400k, 500k, whatever it takes. Surely there’s a number that people would feel is worth the risk. The obvious downside is that increases the cost of construction.
Make the process of roofing safer - invent new safety gear or safety practices, automation equipment that can be operated from the ground, introduce legislation that encourages those practices or subsidizes the new equipment. The obvious downside is this requires upfront investment and cooperation between government and industry.
Either way, the current practice of “throw cheap immigrant labor at it until it goes away” is not tenable.
I guarantee you more people would find themselves wanting to do the work if it paid more.
Or the Midwest United States during pumpkin spice season
I think it’s time for me to go to bed, you almost had me
He coulda just slipped the word “sentient” in to the monologue where he explains his plan. I don’t think that would have impacted pacing at all.
Thanos’ snap wouldn’t kill 50% of each survivors’ gut microbiome, it would kill 50% of all the lil buggies that compromise all gut microbiomes, and if the snap effects individuals randomly, you’d see a normal distribution (I think, I haven’t taken stats in a decade). So some survivors would retain 100% of their microbiome, some would lose it all, with a bell curve in between, probably with the peak around 50%.
That’s pretty much exactly how you first learn to do arithmetic. Break the (whole) numbers down into their smallest (whole) part and count em up. That’s what number lines do, or using colored blocks to visually do the addition, or any number of other techniques you use when you’re first learning arithmetic. I mean, even just knowing 3 + 3 = 6 is memorization, a shortcut form of 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 6.
Ahyuck, murder!
