It definitely impacts my life. Reading that comment was like reading about my day to day.
Yeah, some/most are daily struggles. I took the two tests recommended by another user in the comments here and I scored pretty high.
I was telling my husband about how someone was managing their working memory issues with planners, apps, etc. And he kinda side-eyed and raised an eyebrow and I said “of course, that would require me keeping up to date with the planners and following through,” and he was all uhh-huh, that’s what I thought. 🤣😅😭
So, if I’m an adult who has never been diagnosed with either/anything, but I do all of the things you listed for ADHD and some of the autism ones… Should I be evaluated?
Thanks, I’ll look into it! I really struggle with food, and cooking is way too much effort for something I’m not going to like eating, lol. Breakfast being especially hard for me, liquid meals would be a lifesaver.
I’ve been considering this. I’d love to drink my meals, but I don’t really like smoothies and I’m weird about tastes, so I’m hesitant to try anything like Huel. What’s the flavor like? Can you taste that it’s a health supplement?
having nutritious and regular meals
This part is hard for me. I am never hungry even I wake up, and I literally can’t force myself to eat. I’m get sick. I have a LOT of food issues, though.
Lemmy doesn’t follow mastodon, as far as I know. I like it that way. I was not a fan of mastodon. I made accounts on kbin, Lemmy, and mastodon during the blackout, and Lemmy is the only one I’m still using. I heard of a similar-to-mastodon place called Squabbles, which is NOT part of the fediverse, and I love it there.
I started with accounts on both and found myself liking Lemmy better. I actually haven’t been on kbin in days.
For real, it made me incredibly happy.
I don’t know how old you are, but I grew up before the smoking ban. It was pretty common, and I had several relatives who smoked, but neither of my parents did. Smells bad and makes it hard to breathe, so I’ve always hated it.
No, I’ve pretty much found it repulsive my entire life.
I thought I read that the pilot/CEO kept back up controllers on the craft, in case something went wrong with the first. But that still seems janky to me, lol. Wired would make me a lot more comfortable. But, it’s a moot point anyway, since the controller wasn’t the cause of the failure. The carbon fiber is what fucked them.
I just feel like maybe you shouldn’t use Bluetooth when it’s life and death.
Also, passengers, don’t put your feet on the dash unless you want your knees to go through your face in an accident.
YouTube didn’t exist when I was a child. One Saturday Morning is what I had. Didn’t even have cable to watch Nickelodeon.
And that’s why I’m doing the dishes at midnight.
I just showed this to my husband and asked “Is this me?” He started reading it and just kept nodding then says “Pretty much, you never get straight to the point.”
Thank you for your thoughtful reply, I really appreciate your perspective!
Many of the signs/symptoms of ADHD and ASD are things I struggle with if not daily, then weekly. But I know that there’s a lot of crossover between the two, so it can be difficult to decipher, even for professionals at times. Especially when you throw in other mental health and learning difficulties, lol. So just knowing what’s actually causing what would be helpful in dealing with it.
I wouldn’t care to try meds at this time, but I think it would help with how I’m perceived in certain situations (like accomodations at work).
