My 80th straight razor shave, and it was very decent. Closeness rivals a lot of DE shaves, and comfort was not a problem.
I tried a cold water shave which I’ve had good experiences with in the past. Presumably it keeps my pores closed and my skin tends to feel better as a result.

We plan on traveling to Europe on Monday or Tuesday, and our goal is to make it to Brussels. We’re going to travel standby (a perk of my job) so crossing our fingers for some seats together with our kid. We haven’t gone overseas since 2019, so I’m looking forward to it!

I thought my face was healed from yesterday’s rough shave, but I felt myself having to take it easy today even with a better razor. Still, a much better shave than yesterday. Just ignore that little thing on my cheek.
I’ve been working on something for the new chat ( https://chat.wetshav.ing/ ) which will soon automatically grab the latest top-level comment in a SOTD post on Lemmy and post it in the SOTD thread on the Zulip chat. Some of you may be familiar with the $discord tag to go from Reddit --> Discord, but since we have fewer users here and on Zulip, plus the fact that Zulip is open source and hosted by me on our server, I figured people wouldn’t mind.
Of course, if you do mind, and don’t want your SOTDs cross-posted automatically, please let me know and I’ll come up with a way to exclude your username.
Just to clarify, this feature is not yet fully automated, but will be soon assuming I can finish up the final touches.
In other Zulip news, I think together with @snooting@wetshav.ing and @bosshoggins10@sub.wetshaving.social we’ve sort of worked out the quirks of Zulip and made it as simple as possible, with decent default settings for new users, and as similar to Discord as possible to make it feel “at home” if we ever need to switch over.

Pretty rough shave with this razor. Stropped it a bunch, but stropping didn’t really have the same effect as it did on the razor I used yesterday.
The lather was key in saving my skin from total destruction. Fanzine Saponifications makes great soap.
