My TRS-80 Model 3 had a similar 80 characters x 16 lines display but monochrome in 1980, with 4kb of ram and cost $1000 USD. So this might be from just a few years later. I bet the screen shown in this ad was enhanced.

I was reminding myself about Winston Smith, who created much of the early Dead Kennedys collage art, and jumped from there to Richard Hamilton. Amazing (to me at least) he was doing this in the mid-50s.

In the lat 80s / early 90s, my SO and I saved up for 7 years to be able to afford the down payment for our first home. Now, that would be more like 20 years, which is too much.

Time to consider moving to Europe or Costa Rica or Mexico City or somewhere, if you’re in that boat now.
