Reddit is also getting ban hungry. I got a 7 day ban for criticizing Israelis… zero bans for people saying much worse things about Palestinians

Technology@lemmy.world•Silicon Valley's AI elite are shelling out as much as $6,000/hour for 'nerdy escorts' who can talk tech and cryptoEnglish
25·5 days ago“Crypto” can encompass things that aren’t “coins” though—like land deeds. It’s just a protocol to secure & verify ownership in a decentralized way.
My point is, the actual concept of it absolutely could be an intellectual conversation. Their confidently ignorant quip about what qualifies is silly.

You know crypto doesn’t just mean coins… right? It’s a whole concept that applies to lots of things outside of cryptocurrency.

377·10 days agoAI apologists in the wild are so weird.
LLMs in current form are protested because they’re a worthless “technology” that also wastes a fuck ton of resources so the ruling class can do IP theft at scale.

Technology@lemmy.world•U.S. Government Officials In Talks To Acquire Shares In AI giantsEnglish
2·11 days agoWe are not outgunned. They can’t drone strike their workforce and still project power, that’s always a silly point to me. Also, not all military personnel will giddily bomb their own country. An armed rebellion situation will be really messy. Insurgencies don’t need to outgun the regime they’re against, they need to outlast and make the costs too big to stomach.
You’re right more right wingers own guns. My point is it’s time more left wingers own guns. No reason to have a pathetic defeatist attitude.

71·11 days agoI feel like we’re very much in the territory the U.S. population should start getting armed (if they are not already), and learning how to safely use, maintain, and store their firearms.
When the workforce finally does mass protest, it should have the means to defend itself from the unconstitutional violence the state is going to use against them.

Was that when all media was owned by a few corporations and had complete control of the narrative for decades?
