I had to headspace some spark plugs recently which not being a car guy, I did not know was done by prying the prongs back with essentially a specialized bottle opener and then tapping them down if you went too far. When I bent one too far and had to tap it back down to line up to 100ths or 1000ths of an inch you better believe I felt like I was channeling the ancestors.

Thanks I’ll check her out, I certainly meant to imply that I did not believe this notion but also had to admit I didn’t know. I have a friend who I wouldn’t call normie, they’ve got good politics and know I’m leftist, but is certainly not online like your average hexbear. Yeah those guys have a nihilistic worldview and a very big platform, sometimes people will discuss SP and I need to get comfortable speaking to the fact that I think they put shitty views into the world, and that I’m not complaining about it being crass or whatever. They’ve really had a significant influence on attitudes of multiple generations at this point.
Consuming the news but not wanting to discuss or analyze or reflect, that is a good observation. It seems almost obvious but I hadn’t looked at it quite that way before. With the US forces withdrawing from Afghanistan a few events stick out to me. Missile-striking a man and IIRC his children because he was doing door to door deliveries of meals or water to people who needed aid. The attack at the Kabul airport that killed I think north of a hundred people, but all Western media talked about was ThE tHiRtEeN as they wanted to wave the bloody shirt over the service members that were killed. That also may have involved occupation forces firing into the crowd, which they definitely would want to cover up.
I remember our media class going after Brandon for pulling out, but hey!, this was already negotiated, set up under Trump 1st term, and it’s good to end a 20 year occupation! Plus the ANA was collapsing and Taliban rapidly advancing territory so what even could the US and Afghan govt have done. And yeah sanctioning Afghanistan after the withdrawal is just damning people to starve.

Footwear paid by employer is a good feeling. Sounds like the shoe is too small honestly. If they are new and you’re just noticing that, imagine how bad it’ll get as you keep wearing them. Anecdote time, I mail ordered some new shoes recently in a wide width and a full size larger than my last ones of the same model. When I pulled them on for the first time I thought, damn I bought some clown shoes, but after a couple long walks I decided that really is the size I needed just so my toes wouldn’t rub the front or sides of the toe box. Had you considered ephedrine? I have taken it for stretches of a few months in the past and it really helped me lock TF in.
