Both Hungary and Prague were huge PR disasters in Europe for the USSR though.
Except the majority of these were civilian casualties, not military. So it means the Axis was methodically murdering people.
“Russia is indifferent to deaths” is a propaganda narrative, but WWII data doesn’t match it.
Yeah. The picture in the US is the Soviets just buried the Germans with dead, but military losses weren’t that uneven. What was is civilian deaths, since the Nazis were just massacring everyone.
Overlord was a year after Stalingrad, which is where the war turned on the Eastern Front.
Just look at German losses on each front. Dday put a big nail in the coffin - but the Axis was already bleeding to death then.
Poland had seized land in Czechoslovakia with Germany, and tye USSR had been rebuffed from alliance with most western powers already (despite going as far as preventing the Spanish Republic from collectivizing land in an effort to make them happy).
If the USSR holds blame for the start, so does the UK and France.

21·3 hours agoYeah, I’m not a tankie, my little chickenhawk. Just an actual communist who understands “no war but class war”. But I guess cheering on more troops into the grinder seems fine to you from far away.

2·3 hours agoNah dear, the horseshoe nonsense is something you seem to be partial to. “Tankies”, not so much.
Nah, just shows your context was always “domicile”, not “house”.

You’re just shown them that you have information, and it’s valuable enough for you to take pains to hide it.
They might not get it all, but they’ll use the wrench to try.

1·5 hours agoThey don’t.
There’s two main criticisms of Zohran that come from the left.
One is that while good, his victory is going to be limited because the mayor has little power to enact systematic change. The keeping of Tisch (likely to avoid a war with Hochul he can’t win) is a point for this
The second is that it reinforces the Democratic party which actively opposes socialism, by giving it a face of that. And that in that way it also serves to dilute actual revolutionary energy, etc.
You don’t have to agree with those arguments - I don’t fully. But those are them. But considering the person here is hitting a shitlib trifecta - screaming about tankies and horseshoe theory, conspiracy theories about Russian bots, and claiming “nuance” when caught in obvious contradictions - theyre not going to make an actual argument. Just claim ownership of the left for the center, again.

You’re not giving critical support to the people. You’re giving it to the government.
You want to go support that war, they’re looking for volunteers, my little chickenhawk. Why don’t you go relieve a conscript, since you think the struggle is so important?
