One positive that came out of the iMessage fiasco was that it brought mainstream attention to Apple’s anticompetitive behavior.

Not sure if this is the best way to share a Mastodon toot, but it really helped me understand what fascism is. The essay by Umberto Eco referenced in the toot is one of the gold standard references for identifying and understanding fascist movements.

How will this age verify actually work? Sure the big sites like Facebook might have to follow this law. But won’t this just push kids to use less reputable sites or sites based outside of the US that don’t have to follow US law?

If the exact product I’m looking for comes up as a sponsored listing, I will scroll further down to find the non-sponsered listing just because I hate sponsored ads so much. Not sure if this makes a difference though.
