I’ve hidden it and shall not tell you where.
I’ve hidden it and shall not tell you where.
I try to look on the bright side, we get to watch an empire collapse in real time through memes and stupid little videos on tik tok.
Very true, the vast majority of america is right leaning, even diehard dems, as the democratic party is easily center-right as it stands. The left, the actual left, sees they don’t even have a hand on the wheel, and the moderate dems were alienated by Harris’s commitment to genocide. It doesn’t even matter, as the corporatocractic oligarchs are unchanged and unthreatened by democrats and republicans alike.
Of course it can work that way, we just saw it happen on Tuesday. Look at all the votes the dems lost between elections. All those protests, all the people demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza, all those people asking about cheaper rent and healthcare, those people asking about why there’s still kids in cages at the border. Inaction, regardless of the outcome, does not equal support for the victor. But sure, let’s homogenize the two major parties and make elections even more of a farce than they already are.
In some competitions, the lead of one competitor is obvious, and they lose because they screw up. It should not have been difficult for the party already in power, with a former prosecutor and career politician, to defeat the former gameshow host with 34 felony convictions.
Harris tried to appease the moderate republicans to try and pull from their pool, but alienated her supporters in doing so.
Against Trump, it was the dems to lose, which they did in historical fashion. They’re so quick to blame leftists, or hispanics, or muslims, yet refuse to admit that their shitty policies brought this about.
Scapegoat identified. No way it could have been the dems alienating their base with less progressive politics in a failed attempt to pull republicans over to Harris.
Lots of hardcore republicans where I’m at, and they’re saying Trump’s lead this time is proof that the last election was stolen. I wouldn’t be surpeised if there was widespread voter fraud on the right, but I doubt it would be to the tune of millions to explain the gulf we witnessed.
The libs are claiming Harris lost because people are racist and sexist, but fail to realize that those who are voting based on those metrics were already voting for Trump, even back when Biden was running.
Imagine making excuses as to why one should vote for genocide and still end up losing.
Happened to me as a kid. This huge spider came crawling over my shoulder, but so engrossed was I in the show I was watching, I didn’t notice the monstrosity until it was right in front of my face. I sat up and tried to scream, but no noise came out. I didn’t go into that room again for days.
I just couldn’t let the original commentor get away with saying the most ridiculous shit in this thread, I had to top them.
Actually, tetris is really a commentary about the brief and fragile ethnostate in Constantinople as the Byzantine empire fell to the Ottoman empire.
I wish I could be that cozy
The situations in Palestine and Ukraine are markedly different.
Ukraine has received immense support from Western nations since the start of the Russian invasion, i.e., in support of the defense of Ukraine. The democractic party has been in power since the beginning of that conflict as well.
Western nations have been giving support to the standing army of the defending nation, who are facing a professional army.
Palestine has been under seige from the beneficiary of Western support, i.e., in support of the offense of Palestine.
Western nations have given support to the standing army of the offensive nation, who are facing an insurgency who lack the personnel, training, and support systems of a modern professional army.
The civilian death counts in Palestine have been staggering. Over 44,000 civilians have been killed in Palestine in a little over a year. In Ukraine, over 11,000 civillians have been killed, despite the Russian invasion occuring in February of 2022, 2 years and 9 months ago.
The distinctions between the two situations are apparent, which is why people are being more vocal about Palestine.
I would say nothing about either of the conflicts has been convenient for most people, but both matters are important, albeit for different reasons.
Also, on a personal note, ilk? I didn’t realize we were in the Hog’s Head.
Also the democratic party has been in power, enabling the genocide for over a year.
Putting the word genocide in quotes like that seems dismissive of the plight of Palestinians.
Perhaps the stone is cursed. All the employees were former guests, going back to before the first structure around the stone.
They don’t care about that, as long as they can blame someone different than them. It also helps the narratives that keep the forever wars over there grinding on. Race wars to distract from class wars.
