Probably, it’s super common as a union busting tactic. Because once labor is organized you can’t really put that cat back in the bag.
up to you, and your sense of style. I think it looks fine.
Thesilverpig@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.ml•Iranian missile strikes tech park housing Microsoft office in southern IsraelEnglish4·21 days agoThey came on TV every day for a year and a half telling us about Iraq’s WMD’s and we were scared and confused after 9/11.
Now there was no inciting incident, we have the internet with alternative narratives to the state lies, we have a massively depressed economy from decades of wars gutting our middle class and transferring wealth from the middle class to the elite, and they are trying to speed run there propaganda about Iran in like two weeks using the same tired lies they pushed for during Iraq.
So, in their mind it’s just like Iraq, but there is a reason this war only has about 16% support with 64% against. This war will break maga and will break the US before it breaks Iran. That’s my guess anyways.
Oh, and Iran has almost 4 times the population as Iraq did when we invaded it, has witnessed Iraq and Lybia and have been developing and importing weapons independent of the US sphere of influence for decades while Saddam was a US puppet until he wasn’t. So yeah, I don’t think it’ll go the same.
Thesilverpig@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•Israel running low on Arrow missiles amid rising threat from IranEnglish15·27 days agoThe verbiage is a little funky in this case. This war is definitely one of Israeli aggression but Iran is indeed launching counterattacks on Israel. I don’t necessarily think OP was trying to say otherwise, they possibly just used the term attack instead of strike.

Thesilverpig@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a movie that "looks like" it would suck, but actually is well written and acted and a good time?English4·1 month agoIt was super attentive to d&d details such as almost all the classes of the party using intelligence as dump stats or the specifics of the spells mechanics while also not needing the audience to know any of that to have a good time and understand what was going on.
And the use of d&d lore and mechanics were woven into the characters and narrative, it wasn’t just hey remember this thing from d&d. Way underrated, probably bad marketing.

I’ve heard so many times from the zionists that being anti zionist was anti semetic so I had to read this like 4 times before my brain would let me comprehend it correctly.
Thesilverpig@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.ml•China vows response to ‘the end’ after US’ new 50% tariff threatEnglish2·3 months agoHaving lived in China, I can say China is largely self sufficient and Chinese tariffs on American goods isn’t going to hurt the American economy as much as other aspects of a trade war such as quitting their policy to buy American debt. That said, China does import a shit ton of grain and oil (both cooking and crude), some tech stuff, some cars, and a good amount of aircraft parts, and 40 something films a year see box office releases in China. So certain industries will be hit but specifically related to tariffs and only tariffs, China losing access to the American market is worse for their economy. But by no means is it good for the American economy and tariffs aren’t the only weapon in a trade war.
Sorry to get pedantic, but it’s the internet here.

I’m not going to buy one cause the pricepoint and the fact that “physical copies” of games are going to be empty cases with keys, which might be able to be lent or resold until Nintendo decides against it or kills the system for verifying them, but they did make a number of improvements that would have opened up my wallet once again if they hadn’t let greed win the day.

Or if it does fail to meet expectations it’ll likely be cause the tariffs and not because Nintendo’s greed.

My only hope is that AI like early social media and web services is supported by mountains of vc cash offering services at a loss in order to build users and familiarity, and while it’ll continue to exist after it has to shift to a profitable business model, it’ll essentially be relagated to corners of the economy where it makes sense and they’ll stop trying to hamstring it into everything.
