Use Fedora. Or not, I’m not your parent.

2·12 days agoYou could vary the genres you play more. I love Ball x Pit, but I don’t play a lot of rouge-likes, so I’m not desensitized to the mechanics as much.
I read that last part in the host’s voice, lol.
I feel personally attacked

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why Is It Harder To Move People To Open Source - Decentralized Options?English
15·14 days agoFor convenience, it also doesn’t help that OSS is extremely hit and miss and inconsistent between developers.
This includes:
- App names
- UI/UX
- Features
- Quality of life
- Being a fucking dick to newcomers
At the end of the day, regular people want something that just works™. They don’t want to have to dig through
ancient tomesold form posts to figure out that a depreciated version of an app has been supersceeded by a slightly differently named version by a completely different dev that requires some weird dependencies that conflict with another app’s dependencies and everything just breaks at some point… It’s a pain in the ass.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•How do video creators quickly find and compile specific sound bites?English
2·18 days agoThat sounds a bit more specific, so it’ll be harder to find. It’s probably out there somewhere. Or maybe you could start one.
When in doubt, there’s probably a YouTube video that’s a compilation of stupid shit a politician said. Download it with yt-dlp and cut it up, lol.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•How do video creators quickly find and compile specific sound bites?English
1·18 days agoThinking about sound effects specifically, there are libraries, both paid and free, that you can find online. Those contain a whole bunch of various audio clips. The same general thing applies to graphics, video, and other stuff. That’s usually why you might hear the same effects in different media. Some video game devs might buy the same audio library and you’ll hear the same sound effect in their games. This goes way back to where you would buy CD packs of stock sounds or earlier.
Just doing a quick search online for “sound effects library” took me to https://freesound.org/. I’ve never used it, but it might be good. There’s content all over the internet.
“B-role” would be the term to use if you wanted stock video clips.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•How do video creators quickly find and compile specific sound bites?English
1·18 days agoDepends on what exactly they want; just audio or both audio and video.
Tools like the Adobe suite, specifically Premiere, After Effects, and Audition are made to manipulate video and audio.
There’s open source options as well. I’d recommend looking into those if you’re interested since they’re typically free and not made by a garbage tech giant. Audacity is a good one for audio. Idk off the top of my head what open source video editors are good. I’m sure someone else will mention one. Davinci Resolve maybe?
If there’s a really common clip someone uses, they can just save it somewhere and drop it the tool in when they want it. How someone organizes their media is probably just personal preference. There might be an industry standard.

2·18 days agoLol, I wasn’t super clear on that.
It’s a game like Water Park Simulator where you run a water park. At least some of the images are clearly generated with AI, and I’m certain they vibe coded the game as well; used an LLM to generate some or all of the code.

14·20 days agoI don’t think fascist book licker is a strong enough term to convey what these individuals are. Something like “Nazi pedophile” might be better, even if it’s just by association to their owners. They need to know who they truely are.

I’d think that would be obvious. Everything is a program on a computer.
