It probably needs a Y-cable for external drives that require power. Only og Wii (rev-001) can run gamecube natively.

Thanks for the tips. I know Wii rev001 is the best for this. For PS2 I think it’s safe to use a third-party SATA adapter if you don’t care about online features.
