I have the same large Dutch oven and we use that and a cast iron pan for basically everything. I envy your le creuset collection we barely have space for the Dutch oven!
It does seem to have ramped up in the last few months especially. On a local level we are really struggling to grow food (in our gardens) due to such bizarre weather and that is a tiny example of the effect.
It does feel like that but I care in my small way, it’s all we can do is make small changes and contact our representatives. I’ve linked a template letter you can send to your representative or MP in my comment on this post.
Some crazy records being broken this year. There is also statistically outlying Antarctica ice melt but I haven’t seen that story anywhere since first seeing it.
One thing you can do is write to your MP or representative.

Agreed, basically what I live off anyhow. But then it is leaf water, so unsure if the rules would allow!
Yes it will, which is even more worrying but we have to do something. I think it’s going to have to be a joint carbon reduction and capture effort
It’s true, I don’t think you’d find consensus or cooperation with the idea, but we do seem to be at an impasse that we shouldn’t (but probably will) just ignore.
There was an interesting study done on a city hear me which said that the lack of trees and general built design of the area had made the city’s temp go up by between 2-5C. Which is a big difference!
It does seem like we need a complete shutdown to deal with this. This current situation seems like an immediate emergency and not something we will deal with later down the track.
I think all we can try and do is what we can in out sphere of control and influence. Advice and tips are welcome!
We desperately need regulation for people and workers in extreme temperatures. We’ll be dealing with more and more of it as times goes on so the protections need to be in place.
Very worrying, and incredibly frustrating!
We’re reading more and more of these posts every day. I feel like we also need a top post of things we can all feasibly do to help.
There have been so many targeted projects to weaken the publics understanding of climate change as a whole and activists personally. It’s high time that these companies reinvest their record breaking profits into fixing the problem they have a large hand in creating.
Good, I hope this makes people stop and think who is responsible and who should be talking on the lions share of work to fix the problems.
I think we all know rapid change is possible if the right motivators are there. Not sure how you get people and legislators to make the rapid change we need.
A few things we can do as individuals is fly less, eat less meat, drive less (where possible).
On a larger scale, write to your representatives, and vote for people who actually put climate change at the forefront of their agenda. It’s now time for us all to be really pushy.
I mean we must protect their profits at all costs…
Thank you, yes please. Record profits over the past few years!
Hah, billionaires are an immoral concept in general. Should never have existed
I think we’re at a crisis point with the climate, we’re hitting so many new records and milestones with a rapid pace.
As you say it’s all destabilising. What I absolutely don’t accept is that the customer should feel the brunt of that chnage. These companies have made record profit in the last few years, what a wonderful opportunity to reinvest and fix so many of the problems they have caused.
Hard to know what to say to these stories anymore. But one idea is:
