Cake day: September 5th, 2025

  • I’m sorry I didn’t realize before, but happy cake day! 🎂

I haven’t used Turtle Beach since the 360, so I can’t give you much there. I’ve had the 8BitDo since before Christmas last year and it is solid!

The dock holds the USB receiver so it works both on Fedora and Windows when I switch between them. Steam seems to recognize it as its own thing, and if you hold the B button when taking it off the dock or using the middle power button, it’ll switch to SDL mode and allow you to map the back paddles and the extra top bumper buttons to whatever you want! Plus the gyro stuff, but I don’t use that.

Hopefully that helps you a little more in your search! LTT (LinusTechTips) did a video on YouTube about a few third party controllers. You might watch that also to see if one of the controllers they show in that video suits your needs more! :-)

  • Maybe you can answer this, but why do you want SELinux? When I was on openSUSE, I felt like whatever that thing was doing was preventing me from just turning my computer on and playing some games. Proton-GE ESPECIALLY.

Now, on Fedora (yay at the above news…) I don’t have that issue any longer. no idea what is installed on Fedora, but it doesn’t give me nearly as many of those issues that openSUSE did.

I think openSUSE is awesome, but for someone like me who doesn’t fully understand all the little things going on in the OS, a default install of openSUSE was much worse off on my system config than Fedora was.

  • Well, I’m happy they are at least performing like the clowns they are, but I am more of talking about my fellow Americans. The normal citizens who don’t hold any power like myself. Those are the ones (including mine) whose hands it has fallen upon to stand firm and demand the administration face any consequences for all the fuckery they have done and continue to do every single day.

  • It’s kind of hard to live in a world or space at least where I genuinely care to hear if you are having a hard time or not, but expecting 99% of people to not be sincere when asking you the question.

It’s always a little strange to grow up not really knowing how to talk to people, to go and work on it to get better at it (which took years of fucking up conversations because I said something wrong or whatever the case may be), only for the entire world to change their mindset on stuff like this.

As I was growing up, I was told to treat others how you wanted to be treated, and I really did take that to heart. I’ve always felt like the world is already a hard place, so why do we have this need to make it harder?

Anyway, generally if someone asks me how I am, I am just honest. Bad days are bad, good days are good. When I ask the question, I mean it.

Just weird to see as I get older. :-]
