I think the first part is a drastically over-represented as a result of pearl clutching.

(not popping off at you just clarifying the AI answer)
Jupiter is NOT a failed star, the lowest bounds for a brown dwarf are 13x Jupiter’s mass, and even brown dwarfs are classified as “substellar objects” (actual failed stars?). Wikipedia says Jupiter would need to be 75x more massive to fuse hydrogen.
Well, mostly Jupiter and a little bit of Saturn.
let me know when it’s adapted to visual novel
is that Disco Elysium DLC or something
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialto chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•I love how everyone’s just wiped Epstein from their minds nowEnglish6·9 days agoSure there’s gotta be some, as there are toxic Democrats as well, but nowhere near enough (or at least not widespread enough) to parallel chuds and make such generalization.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialto chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•I love how everyone’s just wiped Epstein from their minds nowEnglish18·9 days agoIdk, “Epstein didn’t kill himself” was all over the internet, regardless of left/right. Yeah nobody ever did anything about it, but I can’t really blame anyone (except politicians) for that, because of course child sex abuse by the elite would be swept under the rug, what else can you do but say “yeah that obviously sketchy prison ‘suicide’ was fake as fuck”
That and it wasn’t just Clinton they defended,
Nobody defended Clinton though? Like who, when presented with the facts about Clinton and Gates, defended them? The line I’ve always seen the most was “lock them all up then”
I don’t think “switching places and positions without any of them questioning why or what they actually believe” is accurate at all in this context, because libs never had the anti-list stand that MAGA/chuds have now.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialto chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•I love how everyone’s just wiped Epstein from their minds nowEnglish16·9 days agoWhen were libs anti-list? As far as I remember the response to “but Clinton” has always been “fuck him too”
I don’t get why people want their problems to have cosmic importance, but the scale of the universe just makes me feel like there is so much I’ll never get to see. And if there is no other life in the universe, then all those amazing worlds with utterly unique phenomena will never be observed.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto New Communities@lemmy.world•Democracy Now! - Posting articles from independent global news source Democracy Now and acting as a comment section for the articles.English3·12 days agoThanks! My initial idea was AP/Reuters only “just the facts” news, but I figured that would take too much effort and wouldn’t be worth it.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English6·14 days agoNot civil disobedience, but I agree. Unfortunately creating communities is probably a bigger ask than getting arrested in a protest.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English3·14 days agoI’m doing my part.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English31·14 days agoEveryone sits on multiple spectra for what they care about, and where their thresholds for acting are
Right, so what would push people over that threshold now?
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English6·14 days agoSome coordination is good, I mean distributed as in anybody with time/means can join, even if they aren’t near a population center.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English111·14 days agoNot against the idea in spirit, but that’s not distributed and not feasible for many people who live far from corporate HQs.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English141·14 days agoWell, that’s part of my point. Everyone who stopped eating at Chick Fil A stopped 10+ years ago, everyone else doesn’t care. Anyone willing to boycott is already boycotting, and they can’t boycott any harder until we have a method of acquiring necessities from somewhere else.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English9·14 days agoRight, that was just an example of things anyone with a couple friends could do locally that would still accumulate at scale.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English14·14 days agoYeah, that’s kind of the idea, like starting a trend of sabotaging multinational companies that have warehouses and logistics all across the country. Anyone near one could be inspired and do their part.
ItemWrongStory@midwest.socialOPto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some methods of distributed civil disobedience for Americans?English201·14 days agoThat’s true, but at the same time, aren’t most people already boycotting what they can? I think anyone who feels bad about supporting shitty companies are already avoiding them when they can, and if they can’t, well there isn’t much more to do until we hit mutual aid networks.
