One large consideration on this older hardware is electricity costs and efficiency. I mean they are definitely plenty useful for certain tasks but you might not want to pay to run a fleet of them 24/7 this becomes a larger concern for larger organizations. So it depends on what you want to do with it and your electricity access. If you are getting free/nearly free electricity or are paying for electric heat for your location anyway…
That is just like your opinion man - the dude

Is it the conversational style? or that search engines have been designed to be actively worse to keep your eyeballs spending more time looking at advertisements now?
Do you have other sources of retirement savings than the pension? What are your desired levels of spending relative to all sources? If you dream of walking around the local park and have a cup of tea looks a bit different from a dream of heading off traveling for 6 months out of the year. Is it possible to scale back to working part time? Change positions to something you want to do more? Retirement planning is a very individual thing as every circumstance is unique.
I’m just giggling to myself at the thought of “You’ve probably never heard of it… the Louvre”
Looks great tho

Not really sure. Maybe that he claims to have uploaded 15 years of content to be posted and it remains posting after his death?

I mean I’ve had to replace a battery every 2 years otherwise this data point has kept working.

Who would though? The marketing idea pushed to the public is that no oil changes means they need no maintenance. They are mechanical devices not magical devices. They require maintenance to stay in good working order like anything. Suspension, brakes (although less often with regeneration systems), tires, wipers, air filters, coolant, batteries 12v not just the rechargeable, transmission fluid (gear box oil on Teslas iirc), etc. This no maintenance myth has turned them into throw away disposable e waste. Not to mention the lack of service for repairing the batteries and computers in the USA leading to insurance totaling the vehicles and them ending up rebuilt in Ukraine.

Have repeatedly run into issues with Wayland. Have gotten it to do some obscure things I haven’t gotten X11 to do but I don’t need those things. It has failed to do things I need. Maybe it is time to give it another shot but it has been a major downgrade for a long time in my lived experience.

I remember the “fan service” being wildly divisive / largely looked down upon at the time of release.

Altendorf has albeit only in large production shop sized saws last I checked.

I’m not saying active injury mitigation isn’t a wonderful thing that should be available to all. Just wanted to point out that one argument against this regulation is that the increased cost of table saw manufacture with it may lead to a resurgence in DIY table saws made from circular saws flipped upside down from those who can not afford the safer products. These DIY things were once much more common before prices fell and are even more dramatically less safe. Unintended consequences etc. May never come to be but felt it should be mentioned.
I mean actually demonstrating the product is one of the main advantages of paying for the overhead of a brick and mortar space and fewer and fewer places actually are taking advantage of that and they wonder why they are losing more and more sales… I miss when we didn’t have to purchase everything based on AI best of lists that flood so called search engines…
