Is there a way to use WhatsApp on a non-smart phone?
WhatsApp has a browser app you can use, turning it into something more like an instant messenger akin to Skype while you’re on a computer. Not sure if you need a phone to manage the account or not, but you could keep a cheapo burner phone for situations like that and then just toss it in a drawer and ignore it until you need to make changes again.
The incoming Trump administration doesn’t even know who they are planning to deport. The criteria right now could be literally anything from “these specific known individuals who are illegal aliens and also criminals” to “anyone Trump or ICE doesn’t like, including legal citizens who are political dissidents”.
If there was ever a time to own a gun in America, now is that time. Protect yourselves, people. The no-knock raids are just around the corner.

The Supreme Court can’t take back an amendment the way they can strike down laws (I.e. by ruling it unconstitutional for whatever reason), because it IS constitutional by definition.
Yeah, but the problem is that the Supreme Court are also the arbiters of the interpretation of the document, and there’s nothing to suggest that they can’t simply come out and say “Oh, it means two consecutive terms”, which is exactly what Putin does in Russia with their term limits - some stooge takes over for a term and then Putin wins in yet another landslide.
I mean, the 22nd Amendment is very clean, IMO. “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice” is pretty unambiguous, but I really can’t put anything past this corrupt administration. A coup is probably more likely, but if Trump can somehow get the law on his side he won’t need to, so I’m sure he would prefer that route.

Trump is real fucking stupid, but he’s smart enough to pick someone who isn’t going to be good at the job of prosecuting criminals considering he is one. His one criteria for this position is loyalty and Gaetz seems to have that going for him. Doesn’t matter in the end of he’s ineffective because Trump doesn’t have an interest in actually governing.
I like to ask anybody in a tirade against “wokeness” or “DEI” what their definitions of those words are and what they find objectionable about it.
If they can define it correctly (most can’t), they usually can’t put into words what they don’t like about it other than that the idea of other people being treated equitably and respectfully makes them feel threatened , vulnerable, or marginalized. Which is absurd, but expecting these people to think beyond themselves is asking too much.
Yes, but he’s far too old at this point to run. We don’t have anybody on the left who is a rockstar dem-socialist except for maybe AOC, and Democrats are probably not going to run another woman in the race for POTUS for another 50 years after these last two embarrassing defeats, so I wouldn’t get my hopes up for that.

Inflation was on the rise before Trump left office. It continued under Biden for the first two years of his term, but he managed to get key legislation passed in that span of time that has measurably reduced inflation. It’s still not back down to what it was pre-pandemic, but we are leading almost every other western democracy in that metric. It really is incredible that people are giving Biden shit for the economy when he is actively fixing the problem, and it shows that the Democrats have a tremendous failure in their ability to do effective messaging.
If it doesn’t feel like inflation has been improved under Biden, that’s because the price you pay at the gas pump or the grocery store has more to do with what they chose to set their prices at than what the current rate of inflation is. The “vibe economy” is real, but they aren’t casting the blame for it at the right people. For once, government did it’s job. Who knows if the current trend will continue under Trump, but given that he set off the massive inflationary spending spree by injecting a ton of cash into a booming economy with stimulus checks, I imagine he’s not going to care much about the fundamentals of a healthy economy and will instead do whatever makes his donors happy.
Good. I hope he does it. Don’t let any of his yes-men or cronies tell him what a horrible idea it is. Let the whole fucking country burn.

Immigration will be “solved” come January, but not because Trump will actually do anything about it, but he’ll just say the problem is solved and then stop talking about it.

Small acts of rebellion. Take extra long breaks. Automate parts of my job and then don’t tell anybody that I did it. Break some shit on purpose and act like it was an accident. Steal as much stuff that isn’t nailed down as possible. The list would go on, but I’d honestly have no idea what I would actually do in that situation.
I’m certainly not giving it 100% at whatever job I’m working at. I would say form a union, but that’s hard to do when you are working for 56 hour workweeks plus commute, not including overtime. That’s assuming the 7 day workweek remains 8 hour shifts rather than moving down to something like 6 hour shifts with an unpaid lunch break.
Corruption right out in the open and we’re powerless to do anything about it.
