1·2 hours agoDo you have a reason to assume that the outsiders using proprietary insider software will do it better
What do you mean? That’s the opposite of my point.
I use Linux with ton of open source software since a decade, and it only got better, while Microsoft policies only got worse. It’s a direct empiric evidence that it works.

1·3 hours agoNot globally. Right now and for foreseeable future only crypto supports world wide. There are initiatives for EU wide payment processing but it won’t work outside

61·13 hours agoDepending on product injecting salt water is necessary - one reason is to form it into nice shape, the other is to inhibit bacteria that could produce botulin toxin in the product.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What’s the difference between anarchy and libertarianism?
22·13 hours agoThere are two definitions of Anarchy in the society. Leftists think it’s some magical utopian self governing system with no upper authority, while everyone else understands it as just state of no laws being enforced.
I leave impossible utopia to others, and answer with common definitions:
Libertarian framework postulate reduction of state to absolute minimum, leaving everything to free market forces. (for better or for worse)
Anarchy is temporary state at which for some reason (war, cataclysm, ect) there’s no framework at all. It’s temporary because some people organize, and some sort of structure emerges

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How would an anarchist society work?
3·1 day agoNo there isn’t. In group big enough you WILL encounter selfish assholes. This is statistical certainty.
Every time some Marxist leftie talks about utopian system, they just say “I wish everyone get along and never killed, raped, or steal from others.”
Thats not how world works. You live surrounded untrustworthy people, some of which are murderers thieves and pedophiles, and the only reason they won’t abuse you is because we managed to work out framework in which there are authorities that will put those people in prisons.
If your wonderful utopian idea can’t reproduce that, it’s shit and won’t ever work

And millions of years of evolution failed to produce it naturally, so good luck
