You don’t have to worry. There are already legal advocacy groups preparing to challenge it. It will never make it to a vote.

If it violates the Canadian Charter, then it won’t pass the debate stage, which means it won’t even make it to a vote.
This will never pass.
All that says, is that you are this close to admitting that Ukraine has been an occupied territory for centuries. Except you are using that fact as a justification for continued occupation, and not a reason for Russia to stop their colonial objectives.
That doesn’t explain why Russians have been occupying land in Ukraine for all that time. When an imperialist state conquers territory, it occupies the land in order to legitimize its claim it.
They are there, because Ukraine has been a vassal state to Russia, with its people treated as second-class citizens, for centuries. During that time, they have oscillated back and forth in status from rebellion to re-conquered, many times. This is just the latest wave of Russian oppression intended to crush dissent and re-establish Russian dominance over Ukraine through the russification of Ukrainian culture, language and identity. Wash, rinse, repeat.
There’s also a certain element of “You can’t tell me what to do!”…followed by doing something incredibly stupid and self-destructive, just to “own the Libs”.
This is yet another astroturfed conservative movement. This whole topic is only supported by a very small number of people, yet it’s being amplified in the media in order to make it seem like a big deal. It isn’t.
They already signed that contract. This is just Israel attacking them anyway.
Why would Cuba even want to trade with the US? They have full trade access to every other country in the region. The US market would only harm Cuban culture and overrun their economy.
Claiming that Cuba would be doing so much better, if only they had more access to US markets, is disingenuous Capitalist propaganda.
You know they’re not going to stop there, though…right? Just look at what they’re doing in Gaza. They’re going to “liberate Iran”, alright. But, they don’t care if they end up bombing women and children in the process.
Next, they’ll start targeting schools, because that’s where the Iranian government indoctrinates its children, and hospitals because that’s where they treat Iranian soldiers injured in Israeli attacks. See, folks? They’re just trying to help. /s
This explains it in better detail than I could. It isn’t so much a single law, but rather a lot of different laws that all work together to ensure that Israel is given everything it could possibly need for its own defense…even bypassing normal regulatory measures in the process, as long as certain conditions are maintained.
Israel has invested tens of millions of dollars lobbying for, and helping to write, the legislation that guarantees their continuous access to weapons. A lot of it is written directly into defense spending bills that are essential for domestic defense spending as well. So, without a massive shift in policy at the legislative level to disentangle those priorities, that support is legally binding.
So, just go into it with violence in mind, then? What advice is this really giving? Shoot first, because they’re just going to lie about it anyway?
Fuck that.
Defend yourself if you have to, but telling people to use violence, just makes what they say about protesters, true. Don’t validate them.
The US is obligated by law, to keep sending them weapons in order to maintain a “qualitative military edge” against all potential threats. This unfortunately incentivizes Israel to maintain a high threat level, in order to increase the amount of weapons it receives.
Wow. That’s sad. I feel bad for Germany.
Would that sentiment still hold if it was Germany that was attacked?
What I will say is what upsets me is [Democrats] saying we will lose. For me, to a certain extent, I don’t care what name is on there. We are not losing. I don’t know about you, but my community does not have the option to lose. My community does not have the luxury of accepting loss in July of an election year. My people are the first ones deported. They’re the first ones put in Rikers. They’re the first ones whose families are killed by war.
Ummm, yeah. She’s right, though? So, maybe this post aged like milk.
And then Trump threatened him with the death penalty, so…yeah.
More like, to test whether the US will follow article 5.
They can try all they want. If it violates the Charter, it will never get past the debate stage before getting scrapped. There’s no point in passing legislation that will just get thrown out the first time it goes to court.
