It’s about a desire for wealth. They see where the money is and want in on it. Also it’s relatively low-skill and non-university than most professions. Bryan Quimby on Guys Podcast said like half the class his daughter just graduated in, the ones who weren’t going to university or weren’t planning to said they wanted to go into real estate. Which makes me think it’s not even like they crave it that badly, it’s just a backup plan they have because they gave up interest and hope in anything else.
No one has ever been “i saw _____ on youtube” and it ever been anything morally good, very occasionally my IRL friend will reference a YT video essay or something, but otherwise it’s usually something frivolous (not necessarily bad) or some heinous culture war shit.

But I catch you threatening to them - or even if they’re messaging you - you don’t respond. You come to me. And I’d like some “yes sir” “thank you sir”-type cordiality in these interactions from now on.
Also Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust since that was actually released in English first. There are a few other anime that actually got dubbed first. I hear Armitage III: Poly-Matrix has a good dub.
Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya has a dub that picked actors that sounded really similar to their Japanese counterparts and adapted a lot of the casual thoughts of the main character pretty well. I wish more dubs would hew closer to how they Japanese show does since that’s usually the original version and they usually made their decisions for reasons pertinent to the show alongside the directors. I don’t get why they feel the need to brag about not basing anything on the Japanese version outside the translation.
The new ones have like cross-breeding and wifi connections and decorating your house and stuff though…
