My dad was talking the other day how (his words) “n-words support Hamas, BLM are terrorists” like 48-72 hours after he had a good take on Israel being colonizers. The boomer mind and the media landscape of the USA needs to be nuked.
When something is happening far away and you don’t feel attached to it, it is easy to have a “cool” take on it. But just the media being so focused on an event (even if it happens very far away) makes people create a personal connection with that event and brings out their true colors.
I bet that the vast majority of the population watches a sci-fi movie and thinks how cool it would be if aliens existed and how they want to meet an alien. But if aliens actually landed on our planet, the vast majority of them would want to kill the aliens.
