Putin has a black belt in Sambo, and also Judo I think. He might be getting old, but the thing about both of those martial arts is that strength isn’t necessarily that important (I mean, unless you’re going up against a worthy opponent obviously), but it’s all about leverage and using your opponent’s momentum against them.

In other words, when you do it right, they kind of throw themselves… Putin would be tossing him around like a fucking ragdoll without breaking a sweat.

I would love to see someone knock Elon down a few pegs… Physically, I mean. Like beat the shit out of him. At least.

It’s my understanding that any martial art is pretty much only good against other people doing the same art.

Most people with black belts in x or y end up getting their asses handed to them by people with experience in real fights.

People who practice purely competition stuff, yes. But there’s a reason the military teaches a blend of martial arts. Combined with real experience it’s even more dangerous. As a quick example, it seems ridiculous that the infantry trains to immobilize people with grappling. Until you remember that they run in packs and their buddy is just going to walk up to the immobilized enemy and shoot them point blank.

Now let’s look at the fantasy fight card here. We have a geriatric billionaire who has never been in a real fight in his life versus a geriatric ex KGB agent who keeps his training current via martial arts.

I’m not a fan of Putin’s international politics, (he keeps getting his ass handed to him), but he would obliterate Musk in a fight. This has all the same flavor of couch potato guys claiming they could hold their own in a tennis match with a woman pro player.
