For what it’s worth I’ve been running everything I can get my hands on in VR under Linux for a year now with no issues. ALVR is a badass project.

Quest 2/3 though, Sony killed first party support for these things so fast it was unreal.

A few months back it seemed like they were going to roll out PC compatibility in partnership with valve and that would have been a home run, but instead I guess they chose to lose hundreds of millions ofndollars.

So, its value has reduced, or was it always overpriced?

There was a mystical time not that long past when it was considered standard fare for electronics to become cheaper with age.

In my experience that only happened right before the new model was announced.

Price was reduced but the value remained the same. Sorry about being pedantic but it’s a pet peeve of mine.

I was under the impression that it was priced competitively for what it was but held down by being locked to PS5 (which is no longer true but the experience on PC is bad).

A piece of consumer electronics does not exist in a vacuum. Other models from other manufacturers are added and removed, affecting its value.
