You can start off small just doing the basic commands then work your way up to thing like combos and command throws. I actually find 3D fighting games easier since they tend not to be a twitchy as 2D fighters are and endless quarter circles and such.

Yeah tekken is a four button fighter with inputs so there is a bit of a skill ceiling when it comes to combos and such
