    @nixCraft@mastodon.social Speculation I’ve seen points more to Mozilla potentially worrying that after this antitrust case that’s ongoing, Google may not be able to pay other companies (Mozilla, Apple, etc.) to be the default search engine. So potentially more seeing that the money might dry up

  • @nixCraft@mastodon.social Mozilla has been in increasingly shaky financial shape, and its moves to diversify (privacy subscriptions, white label VPN, buying and running the Pocket service, etc) haven’t moved the needle.

    No need to speculate on Google doing a single thing. Mozilla’s management is simply trying to reduce costs and stop the red ink.
