    • Brush: Yaqi - Sagrada Familia 24mm synthetic
    • Razor: Rockwell - 6C (R4 + R2 plates)
    • Blade: Astra - Superior Platinum (5)
    • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Cologne Russe
    • Post: Nivea - Sensitive Post Shave Balm
    • Post: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag AS splash
    • Frag: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag EdP

Another first shave with a new sample, Cologne Russe was a lovely experience. Subtle, slightly powdery, with what smelled to me like a light cedar or oak note. I’m still developing a nose for these sorts of scents, so I could be way off base here!

Lather performed excellently as always. I’m growing to love the lower-structured lather that B&M provides. It still gives excellent slickness and a comfortable shave.

    Have a great one y’all! ✌️

    Thu Oct 17 2024

    • Brush: Zenith B21 (XL chrome-plated copper handle, 28 mm knot with 50 mm loft)
    • Razor: Thiers Issard Le Dandy
    • Lather: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
    • Post Shave: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original
    • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Original

It was nice giving Le Dandy another turn today. A nice, delicate little razor, this, and the only razor I ever bought in a real brick-and-mortar shaving store.

    • Brush: AP Shave Co Lemondrop 28mm SynBad

    • Razor: Dubl Duck 5/8" Full Hollow

    • Lather: Zingari Man - The Brewer - Soap

    • Aftershave: Zingari Man - The Socialite - Aftershave

2 passes. Bowl lather. Excellent shave.

Guava, mango, pineapple, passionfruit, apricot, kumquat, orange, juniper, hops, musk. How did I sleep on this!

Heather handed me this sample of The Brewer at this year’s Maggard Meetup. We were talking about her products in general, and about what new things she had coming. It was late in the day and I was very aware of her enthusiasm while answering my questions, and of her gracioiusness in dealing with yet another geezer covering (probably) the same topics.

Thinking, stale beer, I remember taking a huff of this sample, being surprised that I did not smell stale beer, and I moved on so I could leave her in peace.

Today’s theme reminded me that I had this soap sample. I was completely surprised by how good the fragrance is. I already know that the Sego base is top-tier for me, and its performance was expected, but this fragrance was not. I wish I had picked this one up for the spring and summer seasons. It’s a perfect fit. Kudos Heather! Well done!

    • Brush: AP Shave Co. - 24mm Synbad Fan
    • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
    • Blade: Bolzano Superinox (Germany) (6)
    • Lather: House of Mammoth - You & I (Will Die) - Soap
    • Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Lyssa - Aftershave
    • Post Shave: allMan - Refined - Balm

First go with this new scent from House of Mammoth. It’s a really mature, refined scent. Some stank to it, and super enjoyable.

Lyssa isn’t a great match for it, since Lyssa is basically straight up floral, but I was in the mood for it anyway.

Oct 17, 2024 - Theme Thursday - London Beer Flood

    • Brush: Trotter Handcrafts Daliesque 26mm Manchurian T1 Badger Knot
    • Razor: Aylsworth Razors Drakkant Ti Plus
    • Blade: Gillette Platinum [1]
    • Lather: Zingari Man - The Brewer - Soap
    • Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Brewer - Aftershave (Alcohol Free)

Instead of beer in the base ingredient list, i opted for beer in the scent “ingredients.”

Personally, I’m not an IPA drinker, but I appreciate what Heather has done with The Brewer. It captures a Tropical IPA in all its hoppy glory.
