EDIT: im creating a new post just for voting bc i did not have the proper information to share with you in order to cast an informed vote, now i know more abt the modpack
a user here was kind enough to host a server for all of hexbear (and lemmygrad too)! ill make an update post when the server is up, but in the meantime, dm me with your MC username bc the server will be using an allow-list. i will be vetting accts to ensure no wreckers join (sorry new users and lurkers, maybe we can figure out an alternate vetting process for you). ill be the middlewoman for the allow-list for optimum opsec, so the server owner will remain anonymous and i won’t share the association between HB usernames/MC username with the owner.
also, if ur interested, you can vote in the comments for whether the server should be vanilla+ (server-side mods only) or modded (both client- and server-side mods)
for vanilla+
for modded
voting will end in 3 days
EDIT: for those asking, yes it will be pirate friendly, and the modpack will be lightweight and “should run on a potato” according to the server owner
I forgot my old password and had to make a new account. Please i beg allow me to build this lenin statue that has been sitting on my hard drive for the last 5 years
If not me then someone please take this burden in my stead, I can create a schematic for it
can you shoot me a schematic of this
Will this be pirate friendly or should I just bite the bullet and get a legit version?
just got confirmation it will be pirate friendly via a mod that asks for a password
Awesome thank you for checking
pirate friendly i believe

It doesn’t sounds so to me based on your description in the post.
Edit: no. The post doesn’t really lean either way. But for allow-list to be most useful, you need some way to ensure only the account owner can log on. Either through Mojang auth or a plugin that requires typing a password.

Cool. Lemmycraft ran NexAuth.
im not knowledgeable on this, but the owner said there is username/password stuff and an auth system that makes it possible

I like the idea of mods, there are quite a few I’d be game for, but also Java edition is held together with kite string and mods absolutely tank performance for people on lower end systems. I’d be playing on my shitbox laptop. If we did a huge modpack, I wouldn’t be able to play
Edit: Changed my vote, I’m pro modded now. Now that I’ve seen what the modpack is, I can vouch that it’s lightweight and shouldn’t really be too much more difficult to run than Vanilla+. It’s on a new enough version to support sodium+lithium and all those guy’s stuff, and most of the mods are client side and make no difference. I fully support modded now
owner mentioned she was running server-side mods that improve performance but idk how much that would help you. this is def something we will take into consideration. idk yet but i might make the requirement for it to be modded like 2/3 of the votes. ill have to discuss w the owner and other mods tho. i want it to be as inclusive as possible, but if a huge majority of ppl want it to be modded i think that’s the way we’ll go. im sorry
Understandable, listen to the voice of the people, I’ll never shame you for that. What kinda mods are you thinking about running? If I knew a modpack and could test it out I’d be less worried, but if it’s something like ATM a lot of people will be left out due to computer issues. If it’s a low performance hit modpack, I’d love to play modded more than vanilla+ so I fully get it. The only factor determining my vote right now is not knowing the mod pack’s performance
Create Extra is what the owner is thinking. supposedly very lightweight
Create Extra
I just looked through the modlist, that is extremely lightweight. IDK what all the create mods do, but they sound like they add a little bit of automation. If so, I think y’all found the perfect modpack for me! I expected y’all to use an older version for more mod support when you said modded, but if it’s new enough to have lithium then I can trust it to run a lot more. The modpack looks really good, I’m gonna change my vote
Create extra runs smoothly on my laptop with only integrated graphics and power limited so hard that the fans do literally never spin up.
The magic of fabric optimisation mods, this thing probably runs smoother than vanilla.
looks cool - only concern is there’s no magic mods to cater to those who prefer magic over tech. could add in ars nouveau or something but that’s more work for yall
discussed with the server owner. modpack will be very lightweight
Not gonna weigh in on vanilla+ vs modded as I doubt I’ll play much, but I really recommended using Terralith for the worldgen (it’s server-side only so it’s vanilla compatible and if you all decide on modded it also has compatibility with almost all major structure mods) as it’s genuinely phenomenal:
This seems very cool
There is also a major communist Minecraft server called the Gay Motherland. Here is a 3D server map.
can never get tired of vanilla
Hell yeah been meaning to get back into Minecraft for a while now
vanilla is classic
/j response
modded with RLCraft to guarantee ALL our PC’s run bad
+1 For engineering modpacks. i haven’t played since like 1.7 though
vanilla vs modded depends on what mod’s we’d be thinking…
it’ll likely be a create-based modpack. once we decide on whether it will be vanilla+ or modded we can discuss which modpack
In this house we love create
everyone remember your vpn
I need to get a VPN again, I stopped paying for mine a while ago
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
ThankyouThankyouThankyou~
Modded means we can add furniture right? Then

I think you should pin a comment linking to the new post, and maybe link to it at the top of the post
