Bash, and shell script, is kinda funny looking but really does come in handy where I need some glue and a C program or Python is just overkill.
I learned the fastest by pair programming with AI and fixing the scripts.
I have always preached of jumping on to Python as early as you think you need it. Less papercuts, and transportable across servers (bash and tooling versions are a problem when jumping 5+ years).
I may actually have a hope of remembering how to access elements of an array in bash now!
