Reddit is inviting some users to participate in its IPO this week, but moderators told CNBC that they're not taking the company up on its offer.

100% why I stayed away despite two qualifying accounts. Just seems like it was going to be us bankrolling their new yachts while being stuck with a penny stock.

It could go the other way, but I decided to pass on this one.
