Killed the phase-spider matriarch in act 1 with a eldritch blast and because it was dead it was effected by the cantrip and flew off the ledge legitimately wanted to reload that one
Oh yeah you 100% do miss out on loot. I’m doing this in my “Only one party member allowed” playthrough, and it’s basically a necessity for killing most bosses if you only have one character at your disposal lol.
I always feel like I’ll miss out on loot that way

Same exact thing g happened to me! Didn’t even know own she fell off until I noticed the fight was over in round 2.
