Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday signed a directive allowing service members to request permission to carry privately owned firearms on military installations while off duty, the Pentagon said in a statement.
Dude is completely out of touch with the military if he thinks out of uniform carry isn’t going end in friendly fire on US soil.

Loads of people illegally keep guns on base housing, and carry on base.
But some of the ones that would commit gun crimes on base in the heat of a hypothetical moment, weren’t willing to constantly break the rules by having a gun…
